Sounds cool to me. If it's cheap enough to ride without saving up and if they take bikes, I'm all up for this. Fuck it, this'd beat the Greenwich Foot Tunnel hands down.

And crossing the river is tricky for bikes once you get that far down the river. You've got Rotherhithe, the old East London Line as was, the foot tunnel or the Woolwich ferry across to the arse end of nowhere. You can't use the DLR unless you've got a folder and you can't use Blackwall Tunnel either.

I mentioned Thunderbirds specifically because in the episode Brink of Disaster, they are stuck on a monorail which won't stop and in my favourite episode - The Cham Cham, Lady Penelope, Tin-Tin and Parker are stuck in a Cable Car. The ladies get rescued by Thunderbird 1/2 and Parker descends with the help of his umbrella.

I don't understand why they don't just have a continuous car that goes all the way along the cable?!

'Crossing the Thames
Work on a greener way of crossing the Thames than new bridges is going to start this summer. This is the cable car line connecting the Greenwich peninsula with the area around the Royal Victoria Dock. The line will carry up to 2,500 people an hour and will also accommodate bicycles.'
