for others who also haven't got their stuff from Mr Peacock - my Crime Ref was
0915155/10
hopefully quoting that to the Crime Desk will save lots of bother all the way through- the way it was put over to me was that calls had been recieved by Alex on his mobile, although he didn't respond to mine, so maybe he does use it after all, and maybe advising him if he doesn't deliver the goods, then its again a Police matter- and he's been "fingered" once already. -

I brought some shoes from him months and months and months ago. prompt replies until the money went through, then absolutely nothing at all. I have no idea if there was a problem somewhere, lost in the post, whatever. I emailled and pmed, even offered to get someone to pick them up from him in sheffield if it was easier, but never had anything back. I was always very polite, and left time between enquiries (not just a barrage of abuse!) and I just wanted to know what the score was!
So very much not happy. Makes it even more frustrating that other people seem to have had no problem with him!! It wasn't an expensive item, but I really wanted those shoes! heh.
Looks like you can book appointments to view his furniture sales. Perhaps I should organise something and go and see what the deal is with what would appear to be some rather shoddy sales behaviour.
Still, he's taken the money and not provided the goods. I think that pretty much demands banination.

As a buyer who had no problems (quick delivery/replies etc) and given the numerous complaints I think he should be given an ultimatum. Shape up or you're gone for good.

I've noticed Highlandpro is back selling and bumping stuff again after teh Roland debacle. Nothing I've bought off him has been as good as he says it is. Caveat Emptor and all that, but stil....

Does anyone else agree we should have a 'Good Sellers' thread to counter this one? There are some peeps that need some recognition for their good works (Kingcutter and RetroDiCorsa for example)

I agree 100 per cent I did suggest this a while back.
By the way cheers Ben -

like on Pirate bay there are little sign by their name to say "trusted" "VIP" or not. Simple yet effective way of saying a simple thing.

You must post the classified advert in the Classifieds forum.
You must use a thread prefix if one is applicable.
If you are selling your item via eBay or another site, and the audience is not restricted to the forum membership, then you should NOT post it on here as it will be deleted
Anyway, RPM has a whine that I've got power mad but considering I've only deleted the 'repeated' spammer threads and warned others when I could've just deleted their ads I think I've been more than reasonable. bans RPM
Not sure if this constitutes a poor seller as Im new to this, but it seems obvious to me that if someone advertises an item for sale here (and doesn't advise that its for sale elsewhere), AND the item is dibbed (by me, at the seller's requested price), AND sale agreed pending face to face inspection of the item, then its really fu@ked up for the seller to pull out of the sale by saying that a really good friend has made him an offer too good to refuse.

Either something is for sale here, or it isn't, and Im hugely disappointed with this guy.

@ hillsprinter:
as stated in my sales thread, my intentions where always to get this to a good home not to make money. It would have been fair by you to mention that the offer "that was too good to refuse" did not constitute of excess money (it is still going at the same price) but rested on the fact that i have the option to buy this back and it is going to a "good home" that i know.
With all due respect, you did register on the forum yesterday presumably because you gooled the add for this bike. In this light, i think it is a little out of order to behave like you just did.
Lastly (and i really do not like pondering upon technicalities but i feel i should mention it): i never stated in my post that the sale will go forward in the form of first dibbed first serve.
I understand that you are dissapointed. But as i emailed you you will be notified in the case the bike will be sold again.
thats it from my side
best regards "this guy"
edit: (just to make that clear) of course the bike was not advertised elsewhere!

@ Mr C. Sorry you've missed the point entirely. Besides the fact that I got in before anybody else, agreed that I would come to you, with the money you requested, and purchase the bike (and having made it clear that I would never split it, or sell it - by the way, Im an Aussie trackie/roadie, and a lifelong fan of Danny C, so I couldn't think of a much better home), the issue here is that a classifieds is where stuff is sold or bought.
There is no room on a classifieds for "conditional sale", or "sale with the option to buy back" (and particularly when that is not mentioned in the ad), as that simply creates the opportunity for unfairness like this. If you had any concerns about selling it to me (or anybody else) you could have voiced them rather than simply dishonouring our agreement (albeit a loose one at that). Thats simply not gentlemanly. And if you had any concerns about parting with the bike altogether, you should simply not have advertised it for sale, but given more thought. I should not have to pay the price for your indeciciveness.
I will agree with you that this is not about the money. Its about having faith that the classifieds on LFGSS operate with the integrity it should. In this instance, that is simply not the case.
(BTW I have been a member here longer than you have - I am The Black Widow - simply forgot my p/w and couldnt retrive it from my workplace so setup a new user to purchase your bike).

There is no contract until the ink has dried.
Or in this case, you're holding the bike. Deal with it.
On the flipside, people selling shit, stop being cunts.
Fuck this place annoys the shit out of me these days.
