  • a BB and £50 is the counter offer from you ten?

  • He calls me a coward and says that I can pick up the phone or he'll show up on my doorstep one of which "will be a lot easier (on you)". Charmer.

This sounds familiar. Is @ColnagoDaft an alias?

  • I'd settle for £40 via PayPal at this point.

  • I have no idea. Back story?

  • I think £60 for the frame and components in their current condition is fair. I paid postage and PayPal fees on top but I'm happy with that.

  • There's have been a few traders in the past that have made similar threats. And they always seem to come back for more.

  • He seemed like quite an active user in the past. Not the type who comes on here for the classifieds alone and causes trouble.

I'm still inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

  • All true. Innocent until proven guilty, even though this does stink. I hope that it gets resolved soon.

  • Sending my counter offer now. By text. Still doesn't seem to have engaged via PayPal.

    Awaiting angry response.

  • I should point out that he followed up by mentioning that he couldn't talk on Wednesday evening as he was coaching a community boxing team.

  • Ask him if his real name is Martyn Parkes...

  • Now that is funny. Tell him you're MI5.

  • and 6'10''. You just like a small frame.

  • "I've got massive hands mate, you come near me and I'll use my massive hands"

  • He's offered me £20!!!

  • £20 and a boxing lesson?

  • And now he wants me to pay for return shipping so he can have it"powdercoated raleigh red, decalled as a team pro and flog it for £350".

I am a time wasting goon. Apparently.

  • You've opened a Paypal dispute, let it run it's course: negotiations via other means will just confuse the matter.

  • He's now threatening to turn up at my door if I don't send it back.

  • Oh my dayz, what a goon! As far as I'm aware when something is sold not as described and disputed via PayPal, you may not be obliged to return the item even after a full refund. May be worth pointing this out to el goono, could be a case of either he gives you what you want, or you get a full refund as well as the frame.

Also if you have that as a text, advise him you're happy to forward his details to the police if he continues his attempts to intimidate you.

  • That's my preference. He won't engage by that medium.

  • You've opened a Paypal dispute, let it run it's course: negotiations via other means will just confuse the matter.

Sensible advice. If he doesn't respond to the Paypal disture then you win. You'll get your money and probably get to keep the frame too.

  • If he doesn't arrange the courier, that's what'll happen.

  • I've told him that I tried to sort this amicably. He continues to threaten me. Therefore I've, once again, asked that all communication take place via PayPal.

  • He's promised to be at my door next Friday night.
