  • wtf...it wasn't a claim it was what i was told by pearson's. what more do i need? it wasn't a dodgy claim and i've sold stuff on here no probs and bought stuff no probs. so just fuck off.

You should be able to provide proof of the claimed value of something, it's the responsibility of the seller.

By getting all sweary at everyone you just end up looking like a cunt.

  • hi all,

i've emailed pearson's to verify the price of this seatpost and report RTR's unnecessary behaviour. therefore this item is no longer for sale until i clarify who at pearson's was lying. either RTH or vern in the workshop.

You should have done this before you listed it, not after.

  • are you fucking stalking me? every thread and even private posts on my profile page?

  • dude, you can solve this without being aggressive.

  • From LCFs profile page...

fuck off. it's not the fact i was told, it's how i was told and how it has fucking tainted my stuff. and arseholes like you telling me to expect heat is pure fucking bullshit, especially when this forum expects exclusivity. i've called him out on providing proof, where the fuck is it? i've emailed pearsons, so why not wait until they email me back, before tainting me further? coz your a fucking keyboard asshole.

Another user of the forum, doing alot of selling, not donated, and talks trash to the members.

    lovecloughfixie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Donating is not compulsory

  • it's the decent thing to do if you're trading though

  • I never said it was, but for someone with 10 sale threads to their 100 posts it might be nice.

    Useful input as ever andy.w

  • ok thats something interesting, one ebay seller offered that he will cancel the auction if I send him money as a gift. will keep that in mind, cheers

  • Not necessarily, he'd be saving 10%+ for ebay fees then Paypal fees on top of that, on a big transaction it could be worthwhile

  • I never said it was, but for someone with 10 sale threads to their 100 posts it might be nice.

    Why mention it then.

  • Just spotted 'lovecloughfixie' trying to sell a £70 seatpost for £85 claiming it's £185 at full retail - does that count as a 'bad trader'?...

Hmm. If he honestly believed it was worth £185, then no. If he knew it wasn't worth that, then yes. I would've PM'ed him first, though - commenting on sale prices is okay if they're ridiculously overpriced, but putting him straight into bad traders (assuming this is what you did) is really a bit unfair, IMO.

Definitely no need for his attitude though.

thank you for the kind comments. i was just extremely angry as someone's deliberate actions screwing any sales i might have made and other peoples comment saying 'you've been called out on your scam, tough' sort of comments on every thread and personal page.

malaysian, if you look, it's all the same stuff. just stuff from my garage and the prices are so cheap a donation might be made if i can get rid of some stuff. so far only sold about £20's worth.

as for andy p...what the hell man?

for anyone who cares and allows me a defence.........i was genuinely told by vern at pearson's (the bike shop) that the seatpost retailed at £185 so i thought less than half price was a fair asking price. upto date, no-one has yet shown me any actual proof what the seatpost actually retails at. i have withdrawn the item from sale. i feel like i've been hung drawn and quatered for no reason. i was angry, now i feel dismayed and pretty sure i won't be able to sell owt else.

    shaun

  • The problem is your attitude and how you handled it, not the situation. You have made this in to a drama and you would still be able to sell stuff if you had explained calmly instead of being abusive.
Your aggression is nasty and makes the forum unpleasant.
I hope you can see this.

  • Agree it's a mess and I feel bad for you Shaun but there's a place for foul language an it's not classifieds. Might be worth swallowing your pride an apologising for the cussing and carrying on. Fwiw you should have been messaged about the price but you can't legislate against others' lack of foresight.

Ultimately if traders come out with the swears it really puts potential buyers off, so it's in your interest to make an effort to put things right.

  • Does anyone else think that number6 is being a bit cheeky by listing loads of frames and then saying 'not for sale on here right now' and listing them elsewhere? Twice he's put up 'for sale' threads and then written* "sorry none of them available here right now as ma advertising elsewhere"*.

If they're not for sale, he should remove the thread. People are still dibsing and asking about frames that apparently aren't for sale - he's not a bad trader, but I think it's pretty unfair.

  • has anyone bought anything from internet-bikes.com?(http://www.internet-bikes.com/?gclid=CLPyxZ7l3q0CFQe-3godaT9YOA)
ordered a saddle and they've practically had me over-as they're an online company I think I can pursue recompense.
    They're based in Holland.

  • I have, thanks

    He's fishing, not allowed.

I do, regularly, they have nice offers sometimes. I always go there and pick up stuff I ordered. What's the problem?

  • Hi Peter

I bought ordered a black leather concor saddle, a received a black suede one instead.
I sent this back, asking for the leather , and got a perforated regal sadddle, completely different!
The return was delivered by DPD, and I have proof of receipt.
The owner, a Mijnheer Te Riel has stopped answering emails regarding the matter, I have no saddle or refund.
The internet-bikes business address is in Bladel, south, and I am up the north!
I later found quite a lot of negative pr/info/consumer info about the company on some Dutch Consumer sites.
here's one quote using Google translate( sorry mijn Nederlands nog niet klaar Peter, ik probeert ) )

    Hi all,

Recently I have Internet at bikes for a bike Bladel ordered. The amount of the invoice the next day, I transferred over the Internet. One week (!) Later I received a receipt of payment and that the order was reported for at TNT Post. However, TNT has the bike ever received for shipment. The owner of Internet-Bikes hard now claimed that the payment was never received. I gave him a PDF print of my depreciation and sent my bank says that the correct amount into the correct number is handled. What can I do?

When I read about Internet TROS Radar Bikes I have little faith in this matter.

    up'
so this rascal does have 'form' for having people over.
If I treated the good people of this parish like that-I'd be slaughtered.

  • ouch. I know they're not a real bike shop (where peple knwo what product is what) but more of a bunch of box-pushers who buy large amounts of bike goods and sell them with a little profit. haven't seen the negative press yet, I'll check into it

but do you still have the receipt and the wrong saddle? my feeling is you should be able to solve this by a claim for a refund, if I were you I'd go visit the shop (even if you live up north) with the wrong saddle and ask for your money back.

  • Well
I have no saddle as I returned the regal, hence awaiting refund/right saddle
I said to the guy (te riel) I would come and sort it out and he practically challenged me to a fight.
Imagine I end up putting him on his back and end up in trouble for a 60 euro saddle!
It does appear he's a box pusher, and he must have a load of aggro as he does not list a contact phone number on his site.
I transferred from a bank account, so have no recourse there, the other option is to report the return as theft, I have proof of delivery, a recipients name, and Te riel will not acknowledge receipt
    internet-bikes=petty thieves
I'm wounded as it was the last part for my period correct Sarroni Super (

  • Not to bring up old news, but I think we've maybe been slightly harsh on lovecloughfixie.

Yes his language was bad and his reaction a bit extreme. However, this seatpost was given to him as a gesture by a bike shop that sold him a dodgy frame.

Imagine how you would feel being told that an item you've been given by a bike shop as way of an apology is worth half what you have been told, by someone who works in the shop that gave it to you.

Really, I think it's pearson's who need to do some explaining.

  • since last week I too know 1st hand to better steer clear of internetbikes.com

I'm not going to write down the whole story because I don't want to relive the rage I felt.

don't do it, they're not bike people just mean, dumb and greedy box pushers who hide behind a website, cannot be reached by phone and don't even dare to put their names under quite unpleasant e-mails.
