Query: Memberchucklebruv http://www.lfgss.com/member13418.html
Has anyone except myself had bad experience with this seller so far? does anyone know his contact details?
I've bought a couple of items from him on 5th oct and paid him by paypal ( luckily i didn't go for gift option) that he had failed to dispatch.
As an understanding person i am trying to beleive that he was going through some hard times or so and that's why he still hasn't dispatched the bits but two months is really a bit to much and i see that i'll have to take some action now.
Just before taking any legal action i would still like o try resolving this in a friendly and civilised manner so if you know the guy could you please come forward with the contact details or something like that?
Cheers
resolved.
well done :-)

happens all the time, but no one died did they ?
It's a shame drug patents had this much ferocity against them
I really can't understand what you're on about. Drug patents are made with clauses that allowed other countries (like India) to produce cheap knock-offs so their population doesn't suffer needlessly.

For the most influential drugs, this is often not the case.

This is a little off.

Behind closed doors bidding.
Not the way things are done, 'round these parts.

@Wicksie - What about this do you thing is off?
What they said. You asked how things were done around here, you were told, you ignored. That won't get you very far round here I'm afraid.
Then after outing Mr. Brown, which if fair enough if he didn't ask you not to mention him, then you go and tell everyone about it to add insult to injury.Perhaps you should get a feel of the forum before you piss anyone else off.

as far as I'm aware the seller is allowed to set the deal to go however they want..
'highest bidder' is not much different to 'offers via PM' really is it? If people don't agree with the seller's rules they do not have to make an offer/put in a bid.
-
• #1113
True.
Outline that from the start though, he didn't. Don't get all greedy when you have 2 offers and start a bidding war.
The point is, this forum is great because of the friendliness (mostly) and passing things on without ripping people off. A community spirit if you will. Noobs playing games is not in the 'sprit of the forum' and leads to the degradation of this once great place.
This is what I find off.
And the fact that he shit talked Mr. B again. -

It is no suprise that most of the forumers mentioned in this thread are usually:
1) New joiners who decide not to read the rules, assuming this is eBay/CL, it is not.
2) Flippers who saw that there are bargains to be had and money to be made (JonnyRau, amey)
3) When pointed out their selling conduct is not in the best spirit of the forum goes on to say they have the right to get the best price, listen to bids etc. The clear majority consensus on the forum is that bidding is a no-no, gazumping too is a no-no. It takes 2 to tango, hence it is not only the fault of the seller, 'gazumping bidders' too are guilty.
Put a price, O.N.O and:
a) if the asking price has already been met do not declare i.e. I have 2 offers, with one higher than the asking price, anyone with a higher offer = gazumping a buyer who already met the asking price but the seller is seeking more.b) Not to be confused with 2 offers who are both below the asking price, hence seller is still seeking offers closer to the asking price which is fair as he is still sticking to his asking price but trying to bridge the gap between his valuation and the buyer = not trying to get more than he asked for.
4) Honour your pricing. It might be too low, a bargain for someone, stick to it. There is a search tool on the forum. Google too provide you plenty of references in terms of pricing if you have done your homework beforehand.
5) If you got a bargain, the right thing to do is to offer it again on the forum when you no longer want to keep the item. There are plenty of forumers who will spot something bought here then flogged on eBay/CL with a higher price (JonnyRau, amey). If the item has ben refurbished, material parts replaced etc after your initial purchase, it is right then to put up your price slightly to reflect this i.e. sprayed a tatty frame, replaced catridge bearings with ceramic ones, new tubs/tyres etc.

The rules, which I read carefully before posting do not offer specific info for this situation.
I presented a question in a openly making my intentions clear and asking for help and feedback from the forum.People who are using the forum for a relatively short time can not to be expected to be as knowledgeable about lfgss given etiquette as people who have been on the forum for longer.
The search function can be quite limited. Newer users can not be expected to read through thousands of hours of posts to search out info they need.
Mr Brown and the other bidder roryeaglestone where both sent almost the same PM about what had been asked on the thread, asking them to look at the thread again to see and respond on the thread openly so everyone could be happy.
roryeaglestone did exactly that declaring on the thread he did not want a bidding war.
Mr Brown who did all his bidding PM, did not he responded with another PM saying he would pay £100 for the frame.
As he was the first bibber by seven minutes anyway, I accepted his offer. (the extra £5 he offered didn't knock my greedy self backwards with joy)About 30min later he got all touchy about the fact I had put his name on the thread, which I did exactly for the opposite of what some are suggesting, to be open - he obviosy did not look again before re-bidding - and canceled his bid.
I only critised him on the thread at this point.
You may get a fare few idiots around here, but just cos someone is a newer forum user it dosn't mean they are one or food for a "elite" user feeding frenzy.
You no the sort, make a popular statement like "Bricklane are w**kers" and wait for your mates to thoroughly agree.
I put the frame up for a cheap price to get a quick sale, but I wouldn't be selling if I didn't want cash. I was open on the thread about that for all to see. (go and look)
If Mr Brown and his mates wanna derail my sales by bitching about stuff on his bad words I will also be quite happy to print the whole PM thread.
I have lots of nice stuff to sell for good prices. Stop dirting my name, without the correct facts because you have not got anything better to do.

Search took 0.03 seconds. Search: Keyword(s): konaSimple enough?
The search function can be quite limited. Newer users can not be expected to read through thousands of hours of posts to search out info they need.
PMs comes in order, hence the earlier one 1st, the later 2nd.
Mr Brown and the other bidder roryeaglestone where both sent almost the same PM about what had been asked on the thread, asking them to look at the thread again to see and respond on the thread openly so everyone could be happy.
No newbie bashing here, just that you:
1) Didnt understand the DIBS system still with the eBay BID mindset clearly littered throughout your post.
You may get a fare few idiots around here, but just cos someone is a newer forum user it dosn't mean they are one or food for a "elite" user feeding frenzy.
I have lots of nice stuff to sell for good prices. Stop dirting my name, without the correct facts because you have not got anything better to do.
2) 5 quid or not, a better price than what you were initially asking was what you were looking for and you drew flak for that and nothing else other than that. And wipe that smirk off your face, you just sold yourself out for 5 quid.
As for the feedback on your conduct, what's the title of this thread?
I will not pretend that I was not seeing if one buyer was willing to pay more than the other, when that it is obvious :-)
....But I did make my position clear and asked for informed feed back about what was consider fair by the forum.

The point is No.1, you asked as a noob what the situation is, we told you and you choose to ignore us.
It's really not difficult. We are a community, you must have gleamed this before you came to sell stuff, so bidding wars and talking about people when they have asked you not to, is against the 'spirit of the forum'.
my conscence is clear over my conduct including using that name.
Not cool.
I even posted you a link to this thread so you could see.
I still think this is a little off.

Search took 0.34 seconds.Search: Keyword(s): biddingCant see myself reading through that lot in a hurry......
Showing me how to search Kona is so stupid its just not even funny, I know how to conduct a single word search: Its about how to find detail among these posts on what you want involving a complex subject matter.
I have never at any point suggested I was confused about which PM came first or second.
You're not even close here with your lame breakdown, you have not touched on a single relevant point.
Mr Brown PM#1 @22:28:
Hi, I'll take the bike if you can wait until Friday as it's pay day and right now I simply don't have the money? Does it need to be posted or are you in London? Please let me know.roryeaglestone PM#1 @22:35:
Will you post the kona to manc? If you so i'll paypal you tonight!
(Obviously I'll pay postage)
CheersNo1 posted this........
I have two buyers who have both PM'd me with in a couple of minute of each other, roryeaglestone and Mr Brown.
Should I sell the frame to the first bidder or let them send me a private bid, highest wins.
Whats fair?
I will make forum donation when sale goes through.
Thank No1No1 PM Reply:
Hi Mr Brown,
I have two buyers, please see the thread for my response.
I have asked the forum If I should seller to the first bidder or let you both send a private bid, highest wins.
Genuinely don't know correct etiquette is for this.
Friday is not a problem if your good for your word.
Frame is in SE1.
Thanks No1
(Reply almost same to both buyers - I have two buyers, please see the thread for my response. - where I have mentioned both your names so all three of us and everyone else knows exactly what was done openly and fairly.)Mr Brown PM:
Hmmm well most I can do is £100 i'm not after a bidding war. I can pick up and pay on friday in person tho. Let me know.roryeaglestone posted this........
whatever you think's best mate - my offer's there .No1 posted this........
Thanks roryeaglestone,
I have offered the frame to the first bidder Mr Brown.Mr Brown PM:
I think you should refrain from quoting and commenting on private message conversations and deals in a public forum. After seeing the thread I was about to withdraw my interested. Then I wake up again and see you've said that you've accepted my offer. Now it's on a public forum you could say I'm obliged to pay? I'd rather not. Not trying to be awkward could you please contact Rory and see if he would like the frame still..................What is important is the order in which this all happened.
After the above^ people commented don't ask people to bid, the forum won't like it.
And I Responded..........
Thanks to everyone for all your feedback. I could not find anything concrete about what to do when, as in this case to buyers where both offering on the frame within minutes of each other....
I will not pretend that I was not seeing if one buyer was willing to pay more than the other, when that it is obvious :-)
....But I did make my position clear and asked for informed feed back about what was consider fair by the forum.
I do have plenty stuff to sell and would like all buyers to be very pleased with there dealings with me....
I appear to have unfortunately upset Mr Brown the first bidder with my conduct during this auction.
......roryeaglestone PM sentAnd then...........
As you said nothing concrete in writing. I did read the guidelines before I started selling but now I have been told it won't happen again.I repeat:
"now I have been told it won't happen again"
......Why are you now trying to make it something more sinister than what it is?
And why is no one slamming Mr Brown who made an undercover bid ebay style?
Oh yeah, that's it, he's your mate!........ And I tell you some really funny, Here is my name being sullied all over a "Bad Traders" thread and at the point all this was written I had never sold anything to anyone on this forum!!!!! ...Lame
-
• #1121
Dont sweat it No1. Anyone who has read the thread can see you were trying to do the right thing.
Just sell it to the first dibber at the advertised price and we can all have a nice cuddle.
-
• #1122
Thats what I bloody think anyway.
-
• #1123
But posting up PM's will make people a bit grumpy too.

honest mistake my ass.
He knew full well what he was doing.... stealing other peoples work for your own profit is bang out of order. So KC makes a mistake, admits it and is forgiven and I get burned every time.
I have said this again and again that I have made mistakes and I am sorry for them. I love this forum for what it has to offer (online). Many of you have helped me with stuff and I am grateful to you guys (hence I donate as well). Whatever mistakes I made (or might make in the future) are mainly because of the cultural difference (really not an excuse). If I make a mistake please tell me and I will understand in the future but targeting me every time is not good, common guys! I am not a bad person or a bad trader or a c*nt for that matter. I also work with a forum member (work colleague) you can ask him, I am really not a bad person :(
As I am saying this again and again, I hope you guys understand it.
But even after that if u guys continue to burn me to ground, I am helpless and cant really do anything about it.ps: I still don't get the sarcasm and other jokes you guys make and ask what does that mean repeatedly ; ) I generally refer to urban dictionary for that.
skylark,
I'm assuming your talking about Amey, if not you may want to make it clear who you are talking about.
if you are talking about Amey, then the forum did what it could when he asked for help in relation to an issue he had with immigration/visa issues, which lead to them ultimately leaving the country so that they could legally return at a later date.
other than the forum holding out a hand to someone who was in trouble and requested help, you post doesn't seem to make much sense, are you inferring that members here were the cause of his immigration/visa issues and we exacerbated his departure from the country?
best next time to quote whomever you want to have a discussion with, to make it clear what you are trying to express, as far as I am aware Amey has no issue with help he received from this forum in regard to this
amey's bad trader status is down to his interactions in various sales threads, and the wild west nature of the classifieds here, members police it and reputations can be created or destroyed quite quickly.
His reputation as a bad trader had nothing to do with the help and offers of help he was given from here.
