Yeah but he had aero bars and gears.

I didn't mind him drafting me, i did mind that he was drafting while using his aerobars
-
• #3354
Would you mind if he had been riding fixed?
-
• #3355
At least on a fixed he would be able to control his speed. not covering your brakes while drafting is a bit silly.
-
• #3356
Especially with the yo-yoing pace of last night!

He had this odd habit of pulling ahead at the lights then looking back with a cheeky grin. But then waiting for Tom to overtake him before getting going again.
I wasn't sure whether he was slow to start or whether that was the game he was playing. Most odd.

This, the old 'What's the point if what you're training for isn't draft legal?' question.
Would you mind if he had been riding fixed?
Not as much, but still yes. It was really satisfying to have a strong fixed train out there last night, and any fixed strangers would have been more than welcome.

Sorry.

I like it when your on the Giant no silly wheels or aero bars
Sorry.
I blame the wind and I think it was actually the sleeveless guy causing the yoyo effect

This. He is a clown. I shall come on my batmobile and (old)skool(racer) him in the art of the sonic boom next week.

There's something wrong with the position on it that causes massive numbness down the back of my thighs which I wasn't enjoying, and it feels a little too short so need to try it out with a 110mm/120mm stem I think. But I can see it making a return visit.

• #3361
Out of interest, how fast did you guys manage last night?
-
• #3362
22.3/22.4 I think. Not plugged Garmin in yet.
-
• #3363
So not much quicker than me then. And probably about the same cadence :)
-
• #3364
90 ish. Acceptable =/
-
• #3365
I'll gear down next time and crack the ton*.
*I won't actually do this
-
• #3366
I left with a 22.37 that was after 45 mins so well done for keeping it up tom
What where you on upstart? -
• #3367
Gearing? 48/17 so ~74"

Good fun that. 2.5 fast laps thanks to some strong riding from 6pt and CB followed by 5.5 solo laps. Managed 8 laps @ 20.8 which is comfortably my best HoP ever so pretty pleased - was looking over my shoulder a bit waiting for the train to steal a lap on me but thankfully didn't happen! Hope to get out there again soon.

I watched the average ebb away as the laps ticked up - it was nearly 24 after lap 1 and then plummeted once I got dropped and had to start doing some honest work for a change.
-
• #3371
That first lap almost killed me. It's normally the fun one :(
-
• #3372
That lap was epic. Plus my HRM was misreading for the first bit so half my mind was preparing for what looked like an impending heart attack

I have been slack due to LCC signature collection. Volunteering getting in the way of training.
Next week, 72 GI and Zipp front wheel. Not missing it.
Specifically 72 because I am interested in 'Medium Gear' events.

Will be good to have you along!
Garmin unit says average of 22.41mph, max of 30.52mph; Strava says 22.3mph/ 34.6mph. Interesting discrepancies
/not actually interesting. -

Bump. Some pain in the rain tomorrow?
That's the chap, looks like he pissed the boss off^

But, to be fair, I only did about 200 yds on the front myself.
