Pushing the lever for the second click pushes the derailleur in the same direction. So right hand lever pushes it up the cassette and the left pushes it towards the big ring.

My plan for this hop is hold on to toms wheel for as long as possible, then average 21/22mph (probably a bit hopeful)

^ isn't that the normal plan. Sit behind Tom for 1 lap until he drops everyone, then go at a normal speed. I can't go today btw, working.
