  • I felt that as well, headwind was brutal. Shattered, but want moar.

  • Either I'm tired or that felt pretty fast.

Actually it definitely felt fast. And the wind around the top sucked.

6pt, I think I actually heard your bike whimper a couple of times.....chapeau.

Thank god I didn't make it! Saving my legs for the climbs this weekend.

  • Awesome ride! Feeling a bit knackered now.

jung, youre not the only one feeling tired. that was damn quick!

Love the Goff. And great work towing everybody round :)

  • Thank god I didn't make it! Saving my legs for the climbs this weekend.

Legend! New route is a beast...

  • A dishonest ride from me. Two genuine laps and the rest wheelsucking my way out of the wind as much as I could. Plus jumping from cab to cab drafting my way round on the final lap.

  • That was fun. Punctured on the way to the park so was late. The xandertrain had already done four laps by the time I arrived, so I hopped onto the back of that for the rest, then decided it would be fun to grind into that westerly by myself for a bit.

    The Rollas looked quick.

  • The Rollas looked quick.

They have got hairs on their legs.

  • I knew my tyres felt low, but checked them when I got to LMNH for work and they were at 60psi. That would explain why my legs felt so bad but I wasn't out of breath.

  • My cold has now got even worse. the throat is terrifically sore indeed

Don't keep us in suspense - what were the numbers?

  • ^^It lingers interminably. Had it oscillating between chest, throat, and nose for 2 weeks - never really full blown though.

  • 24.1mph for 8 laps, then 10 minute break and a chat with brun, then ~21mph for another 4 laps. Could still walk this morning though so could have gone a little harder I think.
As I said though, dishonest. Wheel-sucking and duty-shirking.

  • upstart what were our numbers? i dont believe my bike computer anymore after the 81mph stint we did

You seemed to be doing your fair share when I saw you (aside from catching a black cab round the bottom) ;)

I had 2 exquisitely painful laps in the middle where I accidentally rode off from that group that we ended up with and it took longer than expected for them to catch up. Legs a bit creaky today.

  • +1 You did fair amount of work at the front and there is nothing wrong with sucking wheels if you are on the limit. It was hard work last night but good fun.
Not sure drafting cars was a good idea though :)
What bike were you on Jung?

  • ^ah but you didn't see the girl smiling out of the rear-facing seat :)

  • ^^jung was colnago, mapei top? (might have imagined the jersey)

  • Yes, remember Mapei top.

  • upstart what were our numbers? i dont believe my bike computer anymore after the 81mph stint we did

20 miles exactly at a rolling average of 20.5 mph - i.e. the clock only stops when the speed is 0.00, none of this pausing it when you drop below 20 rubbish. And there seemed to be loads of traffic light stops last night.

81mph was awesome, really enjoyed that bit.

  • ^ah but you didn't see the girl smiling out of the rear-facing seat :)

But it was my turn at the front and I had to chase you :)

  • Mapei topped, sweaty man.

    What were you on Hyperbole?

  • Yellow/Black BMC, rolla kit.

  • ...none of this pausing it when you drop below 20 rubbish. And there seemed to be loads of traffic light stops last night...

mine pauses below 5mph. pausing below 20 would perserve the average quite nicely though...

  • aha - will say hullo next time.

  • mine pauses below 5mph. pausing below 20 would perserve the average quite nicely though...

True! Anyway, the HoP beginners class is coming along nicely
