  • pedalling harder? how gauche.

  • Might turn up after work. Will be fixed, but considering something other than the usual 30mins just above ftp. Dunno. The socio-economic reality of current day Britain is so pathetic, I'm finding it difficult to make decisions this morning.

  • Ես ունեմ baboon իմ թեւն

  • Parev.

Should be about. Prob earlier rather than later.

  • adrian will see you guys at the usual time and place

  • I can guarantee that every blooming Thursday something crops up. WIll hopefully turn up for my first HoP in 2.

  • out :-(

  • looks like I may just be able to get out of here in time to race up to Regents.
    [bump]

  • I'll be along for a bit.

  • things just got wrong where I am. not fair. should be to time, ish.

  • Actually, I'll be along for an hour.

  • Am retard. Way too early need to learn numbers

  • just re-saved like a bajillion pngs. heading out imminently!

  • Giggedy giggedy, I did the whole hour.

  • Geared with brakes is so much better. Where did everyone disappeared at the end?

  • That was a good blast peoples!

6pt, thanks for not bringing gears....

Spotted: Texas, buy a bigger chainring. ;)
Spotted: JD - amazing colour. Outstanding.
    Spotted: Jaygee - hiding in a fitzrovia boozer....weak ;)

  • Nice seeing you all even if only very briefly, had started an hour earlier. At the end I drafted a guy with Zipp wheels for two laps which I happily stopped when I saw Justin at Gloucester Gate. I might be back.

  • I had good sensations in my legs tonight :)

Few fast solo laps, some weird shit in the Inner Circle, then another couple of laps. Everyone and their mother was in the park tonight.

  • Thanks for the tow. Much needed. I think I peaked in March, I'm getting slower and everything hurts more. But all the familiar faces make me smile.

  • some weird shit in the Inner Circle

I spluttered around Kent this evening, 28 miles at a pathetic 18mph avg. Feel like I rode twice as far.

I think I could do with some of this 'weird shit'.

  • Nice seeing you all even if only very briefly, had started an hour earlier.

same here, done about 5 laps before meeting you lot.

    Happy to oblige :)

You've just over-reached a bit, is all. Your legs need time to digest all the miles you crammed in (at medium to medium-hard intensity) during spring. Volume training works, but mainly for 3 types of rider:

    1. Pros and semi-pros.
    2. Long distance specialists with a massive and unchanging commuter basemile regime (i.e. rural round trip of >40 miles per day).
    3. More mature riders with years of racing and training in their legs.

What you need is a nice 2 week break from anything other than gentle commuting (make it a challenge if you have to by setting goals like not breaking a sweat or *keeping max speed under 16mph**), and a generous allocation of sleep, water, and food.

    I'm getting envious already.

*running something like 60" fixed, or small ring only on a geared rig helps

  • Wise words. I think I'm going to do that 1st...

  • Oh yeah. The noise of that carbon disc on the Cervelo TT bike was rather wonderful.

  • I thought that too, as I overtook it on my fixie wixie with 32h box rims.
