Good spins round lastnight - albeit on my todd as i got dropped after 10metres!
Managed the 8 laps this time, google tracks had me at 19.16mph moving average, total time 1:12hrs. Well happy with that on the fixed commuter!

Any stats from last night? (I really do want a Garmin)

Leaving behind the bitter exchange between me an BMMF (despite it all I do still wish you a happy birthday).. It was a good spin last night.. Haven't looked at the download but it was quick.. And fast. Picked up a fair few randoms as ever.. Some of which knew how to through and off.. some off which didn't have a clue.. Nonetheless great training.

not plugged mine in, but moving avg for me was 23.9mph over 22 miles, from gloucester gate traffic lights. I didn't have it set to auto-lap like I usually do, but I'm pretty sure lap one was a new fastest one for me.

You need to tell those who don't have a clue.
This could get faster if people are more disciplined with rotations, keeping their lines, and riding 'tight'. -

I was thought two laps back to back @ 7:00 mins last week was fast, 2 @ 6:36 this week :D

you boys doing this all fixed or any room for gears? assume fixed for safety reasons?
-
• #1388
Most were geared..
-
• #1389
mostly geared this week. I switch around based on how the bike and legs are feeling each week, but once I sort out the Look will probably neglect fixed for a while :)

^this, last time I was out was fixed on the standard 84", a tiny bit too high in places but manageable overall. the wind was playing along, which helped. but I was also going it alone, which didn't.

"London Fixed Gear & Singlespeed" - your doing it wrong ;-)
Nah i think i was the only fixed lastnight, but usually we end up with the geared boys doing their sound barrier laps and a bunch of us fixed criusing round some distance behind waiting to get lapped...
There was a chap unknown to us doing clockwise laps on a bianchi chrome fixed who i used as a pace setter as we kept crossing over by the Boris bikes at the Zoo which was good, without that its very hard to gauge pace.

And yes i agree, 80" minimum if you want to keep up with anyone geared under the age of 60.

cheers malc, tom,
he is no use in the office today! he's really enjoying it and it is forming a good part of his training for his triathlon at the end of the month.

^^I wasn't fixed, but I was singlespeed (well, only gear other than the 73.8" was a 59", so redundant) :D
Having done it geared/road bike, and SS/Brompton, I'll probably turn up on the road/fixed in 45x15 next time I can make it. Can only manage 7.15 to 7.45pm until term-time ends, but TBH, an hour is fucking boring.

I agree, an hour is fucking boring, an hour and 12mins is even more boring.

It's all about my wife's 40th next month now.
