  • crap. I'm skint.

  • what size do you generally need?

2011 bicycles tend to be sold out by December with the exception of the really small and large bicycles.

There were still 2010 Specialized Allez in 49cm/61cm by February at our shop despite the popular one sold out (54-56cm).

  • That's lucky

  • I would be in the popular size.

  • You'll find one somewhere.

  • I know.

  • Good.

I'll sleep easy in my bed tonight.

  • clears throat

Road bike recommendations will continue shortly after yet another derail by the fat bike/29er freaks.

    Shite, Sorry. Ed provoked me.

But untill a new budget comes along........CAAD 8......drums fingers....

  • Phew. I've already put one troublesome tot to bed tonight, I didn't fancy another "dummy in, dummy out, bottle in, CAAD 8, no ribble, no plastic!" rigmarole again.

  • Tonight. I had to write a half page letter to the tooth fairy. Asking for the return of my nippa's tooth after a couple days, to keep. While explainnig of course he would still like the money to buy a Lego Ninjago. Then write a reply and swap them around, replacing tooth with a 20Kr coin.

    Buy the buggering CAAD 8.

  • Damo

Ribble will be back in London next weekend, try it and get one, it's at least as good as you will ever be at cycling.

  • 20Kr coin

That's inflation for you. Last time the tooth fairy visited me, I go 6d, the same year my dad paid about £600 for a complete TT bike. By the same logic, you can spend 50000Kr on your next bike.

    Ooofff. Low blow, that.

  • True though.

  • Ed: that'd be great.

  • JeJames have some well priced alu Giants, with 105.

The Ribble Ultralighte Racer starts at £860 with 105.

So there are plenty of options for a alu roadie with 105 for around 800 notes.

  • Bollocks.

    LFGSS, providing shit since 2007.

    Generalist.

  • See GA2G about that.

  • Friend went with the CAAD 8, I'm sure you'll all be happy to know.

  • i'll buy my first roadie (canyon ultimate al 9.0 sl) as far as the new 2012 models will be available (mid october) and i'm really curious about the new season next year.

  • There was talk on here about CAAD8, 9 & 10 and if/how they've changed.

I rode with a guy this morning, he was on a CAAD9 and will be racing it for it's 3rd season next year. He reckons the 8 now has a taller headtube (than the 9 or 10). Who knows?

  • Who knows?

    Cannondale know.

  • I would also, if I bothered looking at the geo sheets.

I just thought I'd mention it as I think some people thought that they just rename the frames as new ones emerge.

  • Has anyone had any experience of Verenti bikes? I have been asked by a friend about them. He is engaged in the usual C2W bike buying.

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/verenti-millook/

Of the two, the Millook seems to be a fair buy at £900. Decent enough gruppo and wheels for a starter with an ever reliable mix of alu / carbon. However, I'm not that au fait with the brand.

Anyone have good or bad things to say about them?

  • my lady bought a Verenti Kilmeston on sale at Wiggle - she loves it and I'm quite impressed with it.

£630 for a bike with Sram Rival, Pro lite como's, carbon fork.. and mudguards. Winner. I am very tempted to get one as a winter trainer.
