  • Don't you get your bit D from cod liver oil?

Necking a shot of fish fat each morning is practically compulsory up here.

    Bloody southerners....

  • I don't care enough to perform a double blind test, which according to @TW is the only meaningful basis on which make decisions.

I don't eat much fish at all, for a variety of reasons, which I why I take fish oil instead of vit d supplements.

  • lolz - I found that before whilst looking for stuff for circulation. I guess it is all the same circulatory system but thankfully no issues for me in that area since getting a saddle with a cutout section.

  • What's the quantity of Vit D in fishoil vs. Vit D caps?

  • a double blind test is the only meaningful basis on which make decisions.

    It's true. Evryteim.

  • How long is a piece of string?

  • What's the quantity of Vit D in one of your fishoil caps?

  • iirc its 10micrograms, not totally sure on that though.

What quantity of vitamin d do you consume every day?

  • 1 tablespoon is equivalent to 7.2 ounces of swordfish.

  • It's like 350% RDA or something.

RDAs are just random numbers though. Might just as well work in ounces-swordfish.

  • No idea. My diet is extremely varied. How much is in beer?

  • Two measurements that can >>>

    SI units or deth

  • "Unfortunately there is no agreed consensus on the daily requirements for vitamin the intake in adults and intake recommendations can be from 800 to 2000 IU/day. The UK Department of Health recommends maximum daily intake of VitD is 0.025 mg per day which is 1000IU per day although a higher intake may be recommended under supervision of a specialist for a short period of time. Recent research indicates that without the necessary sunshine exposure athletes required between 600 and 1000 IU per day."

  • "Your VitD levels can be optimized by paying particular attention to sensible volumes of UVB radiation through sunlight exposure and also specific dietary sources. Dietary Sources: Unfortunately VitD cannot be completely repleted through diet alone as only about 10% of your VitD is attributed to your diet. The following dietary sources are recommended but occur in limited quantities in natural and fortified foods such as: • Fatty fish such as wild salmon, trout, fresh tuna, mackerel, and sardines • Egg yolks • Sun-dried mushrooms such as shiitake mushrooms • Fortified milk and margarine • Fortified cereals (UK Food pefrcent RDA table?) Sunshine Sources: Within the United Kingdom it is true to say that UVB radiation from sunshine can only replete between the levels between the hours of 11 o’clock and 3 o’clock in the afternoon between April and September and for this reason VitD deficiency is often rampant on our shores. Try to be outside and expose your face, arms and legs to direct sunshine at least 2-3 times each week between 11 AM and 3 PM for 15 minutes at the time and avoid sun screen during these times unless you have a pre-existing skin condition and or other risk factor that limits sun exposure and so should consult a doctor first. There is evidence that those with darker skin may need to expose for up to 30 minutes at a time."

  • 1 tablespoon is equivalent to 7.2 ounces of swordfish.

    Fully leaded.

  • just kidding - it actually seems like I probably should be taking some then?

  • Unfortunately there is no agreed consensus on the daily requirements for vitamin

    Thanks Obama!

  • I had mine measured. Without knowing what your normal levels are I don't see how you could make a decision either way. The more recent studies seem to suggest that taking some or taking excess might be more harmful than good though so I'd be wary. Same as ACE vits that no smart person takes know because you're more likely to die younger plus they blunt training adaptations.

  • bro do u even healthcare?

  • bro do u even healthcare?

    Not since Brexit.

    Also

    agreed consensus

As opposed to other types of consensus?

  • It was written by a doctor. They were probably operating on someone's brain at the time.

  • I can visually see what you did there.

  • It was probably meant to read 'a greed consensus' and referred to everyone who doesn't support Jeremy Corbyn.
