Here's the full horror/where we are today. You may want to sit down before looking at the "before".

I thought that binnwas a policeman's helmet at first glance (on my phone). Had some questions.
Looking great Neil. Must feel awesome.

Largely I feel hungry.

Time I stopped being a fanny and made some changes to my diet. I've made huge progress but I've reached the limits of what I can do without changing my food ways.
That said, I stopped drinking alcohol a while back and that has been a big success in terms of weight management.
I'm a food person. Spend a lot of time cooking healthy food. I just need to cut out the crap in-between meals I think. At least that's a good place to start I think. Small incremental changes is the best approach for me.

Lean as fk. Shave your chest for cheap extra gainz. You heard it here first.

Definitely sub 10%.
Lower ab vascularity is a good sign. That is some amazing progress!
Most of the work was down to you, but if your personal training company is achieving these results on a regular basis, plenty of people wouldn't hesitate to throw £3500 at them. -

Great transformation. Gotta be around 8% bf i’d reckon. Last time I got near that figure (6 years ago before kids) my face looked really gaunt .
-
• #13709
As all have said - great transformation. Do you think it was worth the money? Could you have achieved it alone - without a coach etc?
-
• #13710
No, I don't think I could/would have done it on my own. I'm good at dedicating myself to a task in order to reach an outcome, but I'd not have been able to define/set this task for myself - too far out of my realm of knowledge.
Worth the money? Ish. Roar has been (in some areas) astonishingly unprofessional, which has genuinely amazed me. I think the concept is sound, and I think that for what is promised the money is actually pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the answers. Very interesting and, again, well done. I think some things are easier when others set goals. I tried an on line coach a few years ago and I think it would have been successful had work not got it the way. Devoting time was an issue and continues to be so albeit in a much bigger way at the moment.

Awesome work! That’s a shredfest. Is it bulking season now?
-
• #13713
Awesome work. I think that sums up the difference between what I may look like if/when I get down to my target weight (right hand photo) and what I could/should aim for, but never achieve, (left hand photo).
Also, left hand photo = Lance Henriksen (Bishop from Aliens)

Yeah, push up to around 80/81 then cut back to ~77/same body fat as the photo on the left. Goal is (beyond not being a fatty) to put on as much muscle as I can now so that I have some left at 85 so I can carry my own shopping home/ride my bike and go skiing.

Impressive achievement. A picture paints a thousand words!
-
• #13716
This is super impressive, well done!! You look amazing!
Get a hair cut and you'll shave off a couple of grams there too! -
• #13717
I think Neil should consider getting a mullet
-
• #13718
Hair cut is booked for 6th May- earliest I could get.

The PT that I've been working with is now emigrating to 'stralia, but we're going to keep working together remotely, him setting a program each week.
We've agreed that the next stage is add 10% of current bodyweight over 4 months and drop 2-3kgs again in a 4 week mini-cut to get rid of the flab. Which means pushing up to 82/83, then down to 80. From what we've done so far gaining 1kg of muscle per month and losing 1kg of flab per week seems to be the average (for me).

Final session at Roar first thing, one of the trainers just sent me this - misleading to say the least, there were two lockdowns that aren't mentioned that occurred between these photographs that are not counted in the time, and the amount of support I received from Roar during that time was zero.

Still a great transformation. How much longer than 12 weeks did it take you?
-
• #13722
14th of September to today, which IIRC features two lockdowns and would be around 7 months.

Is this some kind of cyclist Dorian Gray where your body fat is inversely proportional to your Magura's stopping power?
-
• #13724
That's possible, both bikes with Magura are working really well at the moment, and I'm quite skinny - certainly a motivation to stay off the pies.

False advertising? How did you manage the lockdown periods - did you follow the diet and exercise advice provided before each period?
It seems an odd thing that you sign up for a 12 week plan and, due to lockdown, that stalls twice so the ‘plan’ ends up a 28 week plan. The results are great but how much is due to you getting on with it? Bear in mind that 16 weeks of this was your own doing - well done for that too.
Chap wielding the callipers thinks that I'm in the single digit body fat zone, which was a surprise.
