I gained 9lbs from one day to the next but it was after the FA cup final where I had a skinfull and 6 courses at Theo Randall...Burp.
Where all your movements as expected? Also if you're worried maybe see a specialist - they might give you more insight than NHS

I think I'm going to go for twice a week and see how that goes

First morning of 7-11 intermittent fasting and gf decides it's time for us to restart running
-
• #11430
7-11? Depending on how much you two run, exercising on an empty stomach can be quite nice.
-
• #11431
Yep, so fasting from 7pm until 11am the next day. I've never really experienced that to be fair, nice in what way?
We aren't accomplished runners at all, have got about 70k worth of 5ks in this year. Was going for another this morning but stopped after 4. My commute ride afterwards was actually okay so it could be more the running than the fasting that caused the misery. -

I see! Sorry, mafs init.
See how you go - sounds like you're way more active than me though.

I do most of my morning runs fasted. I find that as long as I'm not going full gas (which is unlikely at 7.30 am tbh) I have no problems. It also seems to suppress my appetite for a while after as well.
-
• #11434
Fasted as in had no breakfast? Or longer? It's the extra stint without food from 7pm that I struggle with, definite evening snacker here.
-
• #11435
No breakfast but lasting until I get hungry. Between 8 to 9.30 am depending on how I feel. I was a terrible evening snacker but have pretty much stopped that now and have no food after 7 pm.

Some people recommend BCAA to stop muscle loss on fasted training.
There's another thingamajig derived from BCAA too worth a Google see what you like.
And 200 mg caffeine on an empty stomach gives a good boot up the hole too if needed... ;)

7kg of anything but fluid over 4 days seems impossible
-
• #11438
There is about 54000 calories in 7kg of fat.
-
• #11439
Was it actually 7kg, or inacurate scales. Im sure 7kg would be visually noticeable

Asking the wrong person
-
• #11441
Scales still seem right. I agree it seems ludicrous - I am seeing an endocrinologist following gp referral but thought I'd see if anyone on here had any bright ideas.

Underactive thyroid would cause unexplained weight gain. Are your eyes looking swollen? Is the middle third of one of your eyebrows missing?
-
• #11443
Clearly an alien probe. Don't worry you'll lose it again when they come back to collect it

• #11444
Actually yes re the eyebrow but that's due to a faceplant incident a few years ago.
GP seemed to think it wasn't thyroid so it's a bit of a mystery. But hopefully the specialist will be able to shed light. That or the aliens will come.

Thanks for that, had a read and ordered some. I don't want to get slower as a result of this!
-

Do a full-on Fartlek run at 7pm - guarantee it'll supress your hunger. Then just keep hydrated until 11am.
-
• #11447
Out of curosity why 7pm to 11am?
-
• #11448
It's supposed to be a 16 hour fast, and this gives me a bit of leeway to eat my tea a bit later. I think 8-12 is quite popular and might be the way I end up going.
-
• #11449
Been eating between 2 and 9pm for a few weeks (weekdays only). Works well.

I'm at basic calorie restriction... 0.8 g protein per lbs 1 gran fat per kg rest is carbs.
1400 net Cal's a day though Pfff... I'm doing this 5 weeks then back to maintenance.
Down 3kg in 4 weeks (76 to 73). I'm sure some of that is down to water weight and food though. Must have sweated almost a kilo yesterday... Or weighed in at full/empty states.
But at the same time, I've gained muscle mass.
