Cutting down on midweek beers and preprepared food (eg. sandwiches at lunch, freezer pies/pizzas etc). Also, I've been going to the gym during lunch break, commuting 20 miles a day and only eating no added salt or sugar muesli during the day.
If I didn't have the weekend binges, it would be more of a loss but my sanity requires those.

No, you certainly do still need to live as you enjoy as well.

I've lost an lbs and feel like piss. Anybody else gets dropping blood pressure when they diet...? Mine is already low, so this doesn't help. :/
Not sure what to do.
-
• #10880
You doing keto? Hydrating properly?
-
• #10881
I'm still 88kg - I've now been 88kg for 3 months.
I think house rennovation stuff has stopped me losing weight faster but I'm certainly less milky bodied than at the turn of the year. I'm also not very good at this 'cutting' business
-
• #10882
I cut mostly carbs but its about P26%C34%F40% so not keto.
Water, tea... I tend to low blood sugar/pressure naturally :/

When I'm what I consider 'bike fit' I'm actually totally unhealthy and on the verge of collapse. Can't stand up without feeling faint, getting headrushes, tunnel vision or near total blackout. Get me warmed up for 15-20 minutes on a bike and I'll feel like Superman and can ride as hard as I like as long as I like, but off the bike I'm like a cripple. Tried a few things wrt diet, hydration etc and nothing worked. Apart from the obvious...proper rest, I never gave that a go because I never had a life/shedule that allowed for commitments, riding and rest too...
Reaslised a while back that fitness and health at some point start to diverge and I don't care that much about being fast.

Yeah, bit of a tricky one if you're already low blood pressure/sugar.
Do you have a blood sugar monitor? Might be worth using one for a while at various points throughout the day to see how your blood sugar is changing and then maybe increase your fat/protein intake to level things out a bit...
Obviously I'm no doctor but I have a similar thing of crashing easily and eating more fat/protein at certain times really makes a difference.
Also, Ireland = Vitamin D deficiency ;)
1,000 iu per 25 lbs body weight is good. -

25% bodyfat isn't very low for a woman. It's normal. But my body always reacted this way, I think it wants me alive and slightly fat, not lean and dead...
Weird enough training is sorta OK, it's falling asleep and sitting where it gets me.
I checked myfitnesspal my salt intake is low from eating no bread and no processed food. So I've put my sea salt on my desk and going to nom nom.
I also have multivits so vit D should be OK, but I've a power up dose for winter.
Bought ZincMagnesiumAsomething too.
If all that fails, maybe I can borrow a meter as a guy downstairs is diabetic. And I've a blood test referral for something else. Which raw garlic eviscerated...problems bloating, they're now gone. So I'll take that too.

Vit D needs to be taken with a source of fat btw - multivits not usually ideal for this.

@I_am_Hingis
What is working for me....
Zero alcohol/junk food/takeaways
Every day...100gr muesli at mid-day and an apple in the evening. 3L water
On cycling/trainerroad days (3/wk) 2x chicken breast and 125gr rice or 2 flour tortillas and salad, plus recovery protein milkshake and 2:1 energy drink during ride if I think I'll need it.
I'm not "counting calories" but for my own interest and so you can maybe compare to yourself I just did as accurately as possible count my total calories inc protein/energy drinks = 7800/week
And according to strava burnt on average 1400/week. -
• #10888
Aaah that may be it, so take it with a meal?
-
• #10889
Yeah - or you can get capsules that are filled with oil+vit D
-
• #10890
I've solgar ones, I should always take those then OR take multivit with dinner. Seems I just won't take it in like this, tx!

An app where I can manually record my BodyFat, BMI etc. along with my weight? Obviously with lovely tracking and graphs etc.
I'm using Garmin Connect at the moment for weight but apparently no option for body fat unless I buy a particular set of scales.
-
• #10892
Libra is nice. Can't say I've tried anything else other than myfitnesspal though.
-
• #10893
Apple healthkit tracks all those but the graphs aren't all that pretty.

Aside from apps, the mirror (take a pic once a month) and a pair of trousers that should just fit are excellent low-tech tools.
Body fat is easish to gauge via photos, if you don't need to be 1% spot on.
Myfitnesspal is crap for data export there's a little web plugin though.

Cheers - my scales give me these measurements - i've just never bothered logging them until now.
Also, the 'scales stored on their side...' thing is real.. varies by up to a KG on first reading and settles down after a minute or so.

/ >30kg lost / 25% of starting bodyweight.
Any way you count it, another well done!

Wowsers big drop :)
Feeling better I suppose? A whole 30 kg less to carry.

The soul is still heavy.
Joking aside, I don't actually feel that much better, more energetic. I think the mind just adapts to the particular circumstances and make them feel the norm. Not sure if I'm articulating it well, but when I was 120kg I was obviously under a lot of strain, but as I had bene like that for a while it was normalised. As I've lost weight gradually so has my mind adjusted so I don't feel anymore nimble, light etc. But no doubt, I am definitely a lot healthier.
Well done to the two Steves on your continued losses. @stevo_com & @steve58
What are you guys doing differently?
