We should go running Tibbs. If I can shake off the current requirement to weep burning tears on the Throne every two hours.

I have a massive black coffee when I get to work.
I generally don't want to be too aware during my commute.

I've given up bread and beer for the forseeable.
My world feels empty without toast.

A few months ago I went raw vegan and it's amazing how much more energy I have.
It was more for health reasons, but a considerable weight loss and blood pressure back to normal. -

Raw food movement makes no sense to me.
Humans spend millions of years developing a shorter intestine, allowing us to extract more energy from food, faster— thanks entirely to discovery of fire and cooking. In turn, this allows us to develop brain size and become humans... then some time later some people decide to bin all that and then go on about how much 'energy' they all have.

I was sceptical at first myself, but I can only say that from my own personal experience I just feel so much better. I fast two days a week and eat raw food for the other five.
I can understand it wouldn't suit everyone, but it works for me. -

Unless you're this guy...

^^^ Food sources pre or post fire would have been natural and of a higher quality than is common now. If your (modern) diet is full of processed crap then going raw and/or vegan is going to give you a far better spectrum of vitamins and minerals even if it is an 'evoultionary' step back.

Or, to repeat myself - you can just eat like a grown up and cook unprocessed veg, meat, grains, etc.
Why is there always an assumption that anyone not signing up to food fads is existing entirely off McDonalds and bacon? It's just not that black and white. -

Fair play to you for committing to something like that, and each to their own etc etc, but I enjoy food way too much to do that.
I eat a lot of raw veg, but having a diet that is based exclusively on that plus a few other bits and bobs would make me sad. And fuck fasting.
Are you doing that due to medical issues, to lose weight, or just to feel better on a day to day basis?

There is actually good scientific evidence to show that semi-regular fasting can be very good for your gut microbe health.

What do your fast days look like out of interest? I mean what do you eat/drink. Seen different interpretations

What do fast days look like
As I recall.

I have always had a reasonably healthy diet, but I went vegan for health reasons.
I avoid any processed foods including soya.
I have a food dehydrator and make crisps etc, from root vegetables and everyone seems to enjoy them. Raw cakes are just delicious and normally get eaten before they have even made it on to a plate.Fasting for one day a week is no food and either cold or warm water with lemon juice for drinks.
The second fasting day is 700 kcal and again water with lemon juice.
I'm now in my 50's (ugh) and as you get older your metabolism does get slower which is probably why it works well for me. I cycle at least 10 to 15 miles a day to and from work and my bike is my therapy. -

Cycling while completely fasted must be so so grim though

Been eating pretty well this year. Kinda dieting but only by cutting junk calories.
Had a decent lunch. Went for a ride before dinner. 90 mins in 'bonk'. Couple of gels. 90 mins more and 'bonk'.
Riding the snow bike over distance is pretty brutal. But I still think I'm experiancing blood sugar crashes far too often.

The only reason I'm fatter than average Londoner is that I have a black hole where my heart should be and a lump of coal for lungs.
