How do you guys get access to your x-rays so easily?
Ive had X-rays and MRI's done over the past couple years and would love to see them, but none of the doctors ive seen have a clue about how to obtain a patient copy.
BUPA innit, Cameron's broken England...

Rest up well. Glad that you at least now have some certainty about healing, and when you can get back on a bike!

Not much chance of rest really... I'm at work this morning :-(

Just got back from fracture clinic, there's a big gap similar to superprecise's and a fair bit of overlap.
It's not painful at all at the moment, just clicky and weird.
Consultant seemed to think it would need surgery but have to go back to Kings next Tuesday to see shoulder surgeon.
Superprecise, was your surgery done on NHS or private?
-

Private. Was lucky enough to be covered by my Dad's insurance. Sped things up quite a lot, once I decided to have the op.

Cool, I'm glad it's been sorted, nice scar?

@ Dommyracer, interesting to see how fast they get it together.

Won't know until I change the dressing Thursday/Friday.

Make sense, should've healed up by now had it not been for the pengy gap.

All is well here. Been doing physio exercises thrice a day and it's felling marginally less painful in general.
Quite excited about being back to norma again soon, touch wood.
I've been super tired all week though, presumably due to the general anaesthetic.
Hope all my other Collarbone Cripples are doing well!

don't ask doctors ask receptionists/ medical records
Just say the words freedom of information and you should be able to get a copy of any and all records a medical establishment has about you...
When I broke mine I asked the radiologist who told me what to do... Most places get asked so often it's all pretty simple... Otherwise a letter quoting the freedom of information act should get at least a reply within a couple of weeks. Usually there's an admin/printing fee.

FOI acts? WTF? In Oz they just gave me mine and over here they said just go to 'this place' pay them some monies for processing and they sent me the images. Before you go all Stasi on them perhaps just ask?

about to get back on the bike - it's been 7 weeks since the op and I have been running/swimming since week 5, but have avoided the bike as I'm told I'm still in the 'fall off and you'll break it again' phase of recovery.
I'm planning to take it easy for the next few weeks, but am pretty excited about even just a gentle ride down to the South Bank...
Josh - glad to hear you are now screwed back together. You'll be back on the bike before you know it - and the physio makes a world of difference to speed of recovery.
Shall we pick a date for that collarbone ride...?

Agreed! They'd have let me have proper copies if I'd paid. I think it was about £20 a time.

So, saw Mr Phillips at King's today. Turns out that not only is he from God's Own Country (Llanelli, but I can forgive him that), but he's a keen roadie too, pretty regular Etape rider.
Anyway, despite the gap he checked out my range of movement and said he wasn't of a mind to operate at the moment. Going to try and let it heal naturally first, have to report back to him in a month to see how it is....

Ha, I was at Kings today to see Mr Phillips (he operated on me about 6 weeks ago). Morning clinic had overun by a couple of hours, so I changed my appointment to next Tuesday.
