  • He's got me to anchor him, so it shouldn't be thigh-damagingly fast.

  • well, you should know how slow I am, you rode with me once :p

  • I could do with getting some miles in before france. Either early sat. or late sun.

Am up for any surrey routes, could do with 60ish miles. Gran Fondo route, or Ride of Falling Leaves would be good.

  • It has been brought to my attention that sun is the anniversary that i better not miss. Sat?

  • Saturday would be good if early enough, need to be back home by 12 ideally.

  • Falling Leaves.Would like to get to know route. Sunday better with traffic? What time do you mean by later? Meet at West Wickham at 10.00h?

  • To be honest I was thinking more like after 12, I've a stag night on Saturday night

  • right.
i'm officially out of action this weekend.
sunday, is breakfast date, and then i'm off to lmnh to get rid of bars, stems, etc.

saturday i think i want to go the track/clean the house. what an interesting life i lead.

  • saturday morning track training damo? I've been meaning to get to a session for ages, if there's a familiar face riding it might give me the push I need to actually turn up.

  • i'm technically still in the novices, but yes. let's do it. and it'll give me a reason to get out the house (and hopefully avoid cleaning the house. again.)

  • I don't think I'm even anything, I've been to an induction, one Monday session and the forum track day.

  • mmmm. better ask RPM where you should be. you fly around, i doubt you'd get anything from a novice session.

  • I'd reckon fine in the intermediates if you can manage a monday session?

Weather permitting I'll be there Sat am for the intermediates

  • Hadn't thought to check the forecast. Hrumph.

  • i may be using a turbo. i know. a turbo.

  • Wheel not fixed yet. Guess I can't go riding, you need two wheels for that :(

  • I can get a Shimano R550 rear wheel your way to tide you over if you've got a cassette and tyre to stick on it? It's my turbo wheel so isn't seeing any use at the moment.

From the other Surrey thread, for a different individual. Although its got a 10sp Shimano cassette on it so it just needs a tyre.

  • right.
i got home last night took wheel off.
rotated cranks with no chain on (and pressure applied). no grindy.

had chat with jim at bc this morning. chain stretched, thinks sprocket knackered. didn't think to flip wheel and try the other sprocket last night, will do tonight. hopefully we'll not hear grindy grindy.

  • I'll have to fetch my wheel tomorrow morning 9:30.
Tom, when were you guys planning to ride? Sunday I can't do, but Saturday once I got my wheel would be fine?

  • I've no clue, I think it was Sunday with Dan, and I'm planning to be at the track tomorrow morning if the weather holds. Can head out somewhere into the country and do a nice run Saturday afternoon? Can drive out to Kent cos it's close, with the bikes in the back and do something nice?

  • Hey, that'd be cool. Countryside for the win. Text or pm me for details, free the whole day.

  • Saturday pm ride sounds good to me.

  • Ok, I'm off to get my wheel back. Since Yemble is up for this as well, what's the plan? Kent in 6pt's car would be a 2 people thing, right?
Yemble, where do you live, have you got access to a a car etc?

I'd even be happy to do a round from Dulwich past Crystal Palace or so, if travel out becomes too much hassle.

  • Argh, I just saw the rain out there ... shite!

  • Yeah I'm thinking rain spoils play a little. If it dries up in the afternoon I'm still up for it though!
(I could always nip out and get some mudguards, something to do innit)

(we could get train from Nunhead to Bromley South (every half hour, @14, 44), then it's a short hop to countryside and beyond)
