Enjoy your ride, and I still hope to join you all for a SSTC some time soon…

  • I'll meet you guys at Effingham

  • Can not make this. Enjoy the ride.

  • right, we're on the train now.
looks like it's just friday and me. wht happened guys?

  • dov, your car is there, but i guess you went by yourself. have fun.

  • Smithfields

  • i woke up. looked at the clock. did some mental mathematics, reasoned i was on the route again on tuesday. and then. er. rolled over and went back to sleep.

sorry pascal, i don't have your number so couldn't text you.

hope it was a good one.

  • wht happened guys?

    the LMNH beer tent happened

  • Ha. Of course.

Well, it was just friday and me, cycled from leatherhead to effingham jct, no dov, only his car, then did the circuit in 2h 7min, then back to leatherhead where friday went on cycling back to london and i took the train. pretty good run me thinks, and i felt stronger than the previous times i did it, so that's pretty good.

Still, you guys and girls were missed. Also i could have done an hour more sleep (staring at tika and bmmf like a disgruntled old geezer).

  • The laziness bug bit me this weekend. :O

  • Just got back, rode 52 miles with a friend. Was too cold to wait around at Effingham so just pushed on not knowing if you were coming or not.

    Good ride.

Hope you all had equally pleasant mornings.

J and V are lazy toads

  • They all are a bunch of no-showers.

  • But the hour earlier start meant less traffic, hence the quicker (and no doubt more pleasant) run, init ;)

Almost too cold for short-fingered mitts out there today.

  • Good fun, that. A solid slog.

Bit of a wind on the way back to Kings Cross, but it seemed to suit the day.

  • Hehe, when I got on the platform for the train from Leatherhead, the granny that we met being dropped of in Effingham Junction came on there 5 mins after me.

I said hello and she was seriously surprised :)

Also, how awesome was that grandpa racer tailing us for a while. He sported a nice looking Dolan frame, had the hardest looking legs ever and they were neatly shaved.
If I'm gonna be like that at 70 I'd be doing myself proud.

  • You want to shave your legs at 70?

Fair play, but I'd settle for having legs in similar condition.

  • I'd settle for legs.

  • damo, you missed out on passing some horses as well :p

  • Anyone up for a nice little hilly ride this coming sunday 1st of August?

  • go on then. Surrey or the Dulwich cafe route?

  • just had a thougt, shall we try and make the most of the http://www.granfondoluciano.co.uk/ route?
    edit:
fucknuts. i've got a breakfast date on the sunday. from 9am.

    out.
    :(

  • :(
We could do saturday ... you free then?
    Or some unusually early/late time.
All I want is get a ride in this weekend before I head off to Europe for the next two weeks.

  • possibly. currently in "discussions". will update when "resolution" is reached.

  • Roadie and I are thinking of getting some weekend countryside miles in. West Wickham and outwards I imagine. Pace undecided but fair, not light speed.

  • Tom, I fear that when you say fair you mean lung-pumping vomit-coughing fast.
