Giant Omnium frame (size L) - 900g
Fork - 545gWTF?
Is that claimed weights or what you've actually measured?Get your scales checked. 545g for an uncut track fork with an alloy steerer is about right - that's what the the 4ZA/Alpina ones weigh. 900g for a L alloy frame is incredibly light for a road frame, I would not be surprised if an Omnium was nearer to 1900 in large. -

Black PX's are not the same as white PX's
Off the top of my head, at track league there were at least:
10 Dolans
6 black PXs (8 if you include Guy but i dont think he rode)
4 Cinellis
4 Ovals
4 Fujis
3 Kogas
2 Cervelo T1s
2 Looks
1 White PX- a load of one off's
hope this is good guide to how 'common' yer bikes are!

I've Seen it claimed at 1400g, which seems a good weight for a alu frame built for track performance (not a trackie). If those fat tubes were part of a large alu frame that weighed 900g. You could dent them by pinching them.

1680g for frame. No idea how I so fantastically fucked up weighing it the first time.
Build so far is 5.35kg. Still to add, spokes, nipples, tubs, bars, tape and a chain.

Sounds much more like it. The blurb from Giant states that they paid little attention to weight, as the complete bike would need to comply with UCI regs anyway. So they went for out'n'out stiffness (well something like that). So something around the 1.5Kg mark sounds more like it.
Still, looks like you're going to end up with a, stiff as fook, sub 7Kg bike. Nice.

The stem is 220g FFS!

I'm currently building a track bike for training and hopefully the local league...
I need to get a chainset and had my eyes set on a campag record pista set.
Now seeing a few sram omniums, i'm considering them instead.I know the campag pistas are lighter (excluding bb option), but they seem quite antiquated compared to the omniums.
What would you go for?

Dura fuckin Ace and Dura fuckin Ace
Ain't going to happen sorry

they're both the best though. In honesty I would go for the Omniums because external bb's are awesome.
-
• #244
What was the question? Oh OK, Sugino 75.
-
• #245
I would buy two sets of dura ace.
-
• #246
one for each side of the bike, twice the speed

SRAM.
Fo sure.Any reason why? I guess they'd be stiffer being 7050, but maybe slightly heavier.
Listen to me, maybe i just need to man up. - constant downhill

Giant Omnium frame (size L) - 900g
