£15 is probably nothing to a TT'er, but to a track rider that's a week's wages.
True dat. Sometimes the first prize in a TT is over £10!

for ironman, heres the frame, it's butt ugly but its said to be as stiff as a stiff thing on stiff drugs, and I know, the decals are horrible, i'm just going to deal with it
-
• #154
If its for training then I wouldn't worry about the looks, My Tifosi is as ugly as Dot Cotton chewing a wasp.....all the better for beasting I say!!
At least youve got matching forks!!
Im gonna be brave here and say theres not alot of difference in the two frames??!! (bar the forks!) Even the seat post collar is the same!! -
• #155
yep, pretty much the same, but i'm going to try and tape over the logo with white tape, but as it is it leaves me lots of room for team decals, if I want them
-
• #156
Tape hey? Been pondering over a black powder coating....is it really worth the extra expense??
'King cutters' black machine looks sweet and wouldn't look too grubby and shitty (like a white frame!)
we will see!! -
• #157
I definitely wont be powdercoating it, I have a feeling i'll use it for a few runs on the track then perhaps turn it onto a winter ss, i really don't want to have to sell it though

as a team we do not race track
Why are you allowed to train on the track but not race on it?
-
• #159
Anybody is allowed; I don't race, but the track is still a fun place to play, and potentially a useful training tool for other disciplines.

Went in to Condor earlier to have a look at the Cervelo T1 and their new Lavarro framesets, guy says the Cervelo costs twice as much but the Condor is better as the welds are better but the Cervelo is more aero as it's been in the wind-tunnel, then proceeds to tell me that the change in frame shape on the Lavarro is for added comfort which makes it better.
Really struggling with choosing a frame for next year.
Thoughts?
Here are the contenders so far:

Condor. Because the picture is the biggest.
-
• #162
That's a convincing argument, but the Giant's the best.
-
• #163
Ha! The cervelo is meant to have really good welds. The giant looks the best though.
-
• #164
^^Why?
-
• #165
Perhaps if the Giant had a giant picture, Jaygee would go for it too.
-
• #166
Get a Charge Plug, they're on sale at Wiggle...
Or... Kalavinka's making crabon frames for about £2k... The pros love them apparently...

^Fucking awful

• #168
I thought you already had the Giant ?

Just use what you've got, it won't make any difference. Unless your current bike is super shite.
Really though, it depends on your price point and aims, there's slightly more choice for endurance based frames and less choice for taller sprinters who don't like the tall headtube on many of the modern frames in the larger sizes (Like that T1)

Don't listen to RPM or BMMF. Get a really bling bike. Leave it at the track and I will ride it all year.
£15 different, unless you know where to get sprints for £40 in which case I'll get some!
