tiffyjmo and I went to the Saltoun Supper Club in Brixton last night - one of those underground dining clubs. It was delish and the setting was magical. If you can get yourself a seat, I highly recommend it.

LOVED it! but be careful with the BYOB part as three bottles was a bit much for two people...we did however find our way home without bruises this time. And to whoever told me off the last time I talked about a BYOB restaurant on this thread, this was posh and hightly recommended.

What's considered a mid price business lunch these days?
catfood - next time you're having Mexican, try Lupita on Villiers Street (much better than Wahaca IMO). -

Pearl does an excellent £30 three course lunch, not sure if that's over budget though.
Kopapa (Peter Gordon's new gaff) on Seven Dials is great as well, went there on a couple of weeks ago on a Tuesday night and the place was rammed.

on the day? an apperitif G&t (pref hendricks/tanqueray10) or maybe a glass of champagne.
the amouse bouche will see you right on the day
or are you talking about training leading up to the big day?

it's weird that. i once heard a dedicated foodie claim that a by quaffing a g&t before food you might as well anethestise your tastebuds. or something similar. they might have a point.

We'll call into the Mandarin Bar for a glass of something beforehand, a Kir Royale may hit the note. I'm kinda wondering just what to have for breakfast ... Dinner is a late lunch.
Chapeau!
