Anyone know who made my recently acquired ‘Retallick’ frame? There are as far as I can tell just 3 mentions of the name on the internet, 2 of them duplicates on here and Retrobike 9 years ago and 1 mention in passing on another forum, but nothing with any actual information. It seems a quality frame - english BB, Columbus tubes (SL, with really nice flattened/profiled seatstays) and dropouts, Andrew Hague bolt in the fastback seat cluster, Gipiemme brake bridge, SR stamp on the cast bb and cool paint as well! Serial numbers on the BB (and fork) are 117 and R 11 9 as far as I can tell.

Hello, was wondering if anyone could identify these forks. Don't think they are anything special. The forks are canti braked and the inner silver decal. There is a mark on the steerer.

Retallick
I used to know a rider called Ken Retallick.
He was originally in the Harlequins CC and, I think, subsequently in the Bath Road Club. I remember riding with him in Surrey League events, although he is quite a few years my senior - I guess he would be approaching 90 by now.
I believe he did some coaching, and I would be surprised if your frame had no connection with Ken.
It looks a nice bit of kit. My guess is that it dates from the 1980's.

A drew Hague did lightweight replacement nuts and bolts, often in titanium in the 70's and into the 80's. Also did a cunning contraption to fix saddlebags to saddles.

I still have my Dad's old Holdsworth Typhoon, dated late fifties with the same lugs as that

Lovely!
Have bought so I can be the dad (and grandad) that hands down the Holdsworths (holds down the handsworths?) :) -

Thanks for the info. I believe the frame has been knocking around the Bristol area for a good few years so Bath Road Club is a link that makes sense.

Anyone know about this old De Rosa? Seen one for sale for a few hundred but can’t find anything to compare it with

Which are just a rebranded version of the very same hub (daytona 2001/centaur 2002).
Beside some finishing touches:
- adjusting sleeve plastic vs metal for chorus/record
- freewheel attachment bolt in steel vs stainless steel for chorus/record
- simplified spline contruction design for daytona/centaur
- oil hole for record
... record/chorus/daytona/centaur hubs where identical from 2000 to 2006, hence same performance.
Xenon/Mirage were identical with a very basic design with industrial bearings rather than cones.
- adjusting sleeve plastic vs metal for chorus/record

Thank you, will poke around.

It looks like a TT-bike. Probably not with a conventional road geometry.
This comes close: https://vintagevelore-cycling.com/de-rosa-concept-tt-bike/ -

I spoke to the guy who owns Epicycles who agreed. He had one a few years ago but struggled to sell it.

Picked up this frame mountain bike labeled Canyon but struggling to find much information on it online, apart from an old Reddit post were it looks to be an early Canyon brand (Swiss) before the company changed and became the modern Canyon (German).
Does anyone else have any information or famiar with these? Looks like a very close copy of a GT frame.

Canyon bikes were not called Canyon in Switzerland up to recently because of copyright issues. Brand was owned by Lizard Sport AG (now Cylan).
Given the head badge, I can only assume it is a "Lizard Sport" bike, and not a German Canyon bike. -

Hi there,
I'm hoping I am asking this in the right space in this forum!
I am looking to sell two of my dad's old bikes. I am trying to work out the best way to sell these on and looking for advice. The first bike is a Raleigh Propaganda Mens Urban Commuter, Fixed Gear - Blue. (2021/2022?)
Was only used for small cycling trips around town and in very good condition. Realistically how much would this sell for?The second bike is a Trek Madone 5.9 White (2014/2015?).
good condition with upgraded parts eg. wheels, pedals. For a bike like this would I be better off selling the bike as a whole or for the parts? And for this bike based on type and age how much would a realistic selling price be?Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Hello guys!
I came upon this fork at my local "dealer" he could not tell if its a genuine switch blade and I could not either.
There is a heart shaled pantho at the crown, no tange pantho on dropouts though.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance

I need some new brake hoods. Can anyone let me know what these Shimano Ultegra Flightdeck levers are (and also whether it matters, or if there is a generic type of brake hood that fits this type of lever) please?

Looks like Chorus, circa 2000. Instructions here (login probably required).
