Found this beauty near my hometown but I can't find anything in the internet about a 2 seater Benotto. Anyone knows which model is this? The bike is in Portugal and it has never been ridden nor restored. The owner says that the bike is from the 70's/80's and everything is original. Above mint condition. He is asking for 1500£.
What do you think?

Have these sugino cranks, 144bcd, 165mm roadiecranks.
I'm pretty well informed on Japanese components but have never seen them before :/
shape rempinds me of sugino Aero mighty, google says nothing..

Is this what the seller claims it to be?

First of all, that looks like a stock photo.
Second, no mention of respraying a one year old bike?
One third of the new price after only a year? Not impossible there's a legit reason (Xmas skint etc), but needs querying.
Not really my thing, but it looks more like a Leader etc than what I'd expect from Bianchi.

Yup, looked very Leader-like to me too - again, not really my thing either, but it's not far from me and if it is what it purportedly is then there's no harm in having a look

Hi guys,
around 40 years ago (might be more, more like 45) my uncles and their sons went to France for a trip and they came back with a green bike. I have always remembered the bike, not sure why, and have asked a few times my parents if they knew what happened to it. I remembered that, after a while, my uncle gave it to us.
Last time I came earlier this year I asked them again and they said it should be downstairs in the canteen, but I couldn't find it.
Yesterday I went back to my parents for the holidays and went downstairs in the summer kitchen to look for a Sony MD player I wanted to put back in use and there it was!
Turns out my father found it again and decided to put it back on the road for our nephew. It's a Raymond Poulidor Special Tour de France / Course, possibly made by Mercier, not in 531, but not heavy either.
Paint is in great conditions given the age, the seat tube decal also in good nick, not so much can be said of the top tube one. The tubing decals have been removed at some point and the brakes swapped from a local bike mechanic some time ago as well. The local mechanic seems to have 'stolen' a few original components (my mother is still upset with my father about it! as they noticed but he didn't go back to complain :))Here you can find the pictures, just would like to know if Mercier actually made it and the dating.
It is lugless around 40 years old (and still spins and nothing seems stuck!)
(about the age we're about to call my uncle, will confirm shortly)https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yvpt6ck6c1ggt88/AACjQ2wMTAX2PZgVFvkdk-Sca?dl=0
So anyone knows anything about these bikes?

I think it's is Mercier made. The head badge logo is very similar to Mercier's

late 90s Basso carbon road frameFound it on ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Basso-carbon-frame-54-cm-/231421260645?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Fragrances_Women_s_Fragrances_PP&hash=item35e1c83365) on a random search, sold for silly cheap.
Anyone any idea what model it is and any decent builds been done before? Looks like it has potential for 90s thread.

It's a 1989-91 Basso Laguna, made in USA by Aegis.
Trek was selling the same frame branded as Trek 5000. -

Dave built steel bikes - originally for Carlton I think.
He's a very friendly guy so call him on 01709 813089 and see if the rumours are true -

Also take note of the prototype silicone toe clip… More to come on that later.

Brilliant, thanks for that spotter. I was excited there for a minute till I realised that was in 2010.
Oh well, I just need to find somewhere that actually has the black holdfast straps in stock till someone does actually get round to making those.
