I've been doing some more digging and discovered the Swiss Cilo's. This is the closest match I've found so far, they have very similar lugs and braking bridge and no engravings. Any thoughts?

I bought it in London from a guy -- he had built the bike himself using a hodgepodge of components (he works as a mechanic at Evans head workshop -- i assume he nicked the components given their quality).
He didn't know the provenance of the frame exactly, but bought it from someone else who thought it was custom, though who can say?
Another member here has a frame with a similar BB shell with the same W or M, and his bike was made by Rossin -- I'm suspecting it is actually a Rossin as well. Very nice Columbus tubing, all beautifully brazed, though no markings.
Getting it painted this week so once all disassembled hoping to find some more markings.

Found this frame locally. Considering acquiring. Number on bottom bracket is 04059. Worth acquiring for a good price? Can you shed any light? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/nice-vintage-racing-frame-and-forks/1002192331

Bob Griffin was a frame builder who up until about '94 ran a shop in Hungerford Street Cheltenham.
He built frames for over thirty years and then went to work for Roylans after his shop closed - he no longer builds frames but I think he's still at Roylans
IIRC all his work was custom, usually Reynolds 531c lugged frames.
I knew him back in my Cotswold league racing days.edscoble did a Griffin CP, and there are plenty other resources on the web: e.g. this one in which Bob himself makes an apprearance and an offer of assistance...

Out of general interest, Here's an ad for his shop from the comic in '91. -

Hard to tell (for me atleast) but theres alot of fsa wing modells that should come close to that. Like this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=36068

Was my saddle of choice before i turned to smp´s. Good saddles and should be easy to score a used one. That said one never know with saddles before one test it on its own ass..

Not sure they're the original forks - does it have any Reynolds tubing stickers on it?
Looks like early 80's. Holdsworth were in charge from 1958 to 1984.... Check the N Kilgariff Webpages for details - a seriously useful resource for anyone interested in Claud Butler bikesStarter for ten I'd say it's a Cadet, it's definitely one of the lower range models as it's got pressed rear dropouts.
Here's a few links you may wish to explore....

1985 Catalogue page - spec for complete range
Discussion on Retrobike on a similar looking bike to yours
Another webpage talking about a similar looking bike
1976 catalogue page showing a frame with the same lugs.Hopefully that'll be of some use.. looks to be in very tidy condition, and they were very decent bikes made with pride right up until the 90's.

I'm inclined to agree with you on the forks not being original, Looking at all the bikes in your links that look similar to mine, the majority of them seem have Reynolds tubing stickers on the forks.
I think this will do for my first fixie project even if it's not one of the higher end Claud Butlers, would be nice to find out the exact modle though. Thanks again for the info :)

Hi, I saw this in Florence-Italia. Does anyone know the brand?

or this neat bike?
Sorry for the repost but does anyone have any more ideas on this frame? http://www.lfgss.com/post2232790-1486.html
I've done loads of googling but haven't really found anything similar. I've since discovered the number 109 on the bb shell and the fork steerer tube. Can't see this will help much though.
