fredjacktucker,
I'm 99.99% sure your frame is one of the mid 70s Vitus frames.
There is the Super Vitus Grun which was made of the Vitus 971 tubing and is almost identical match of your frame. Back then that tubing was compared to the Reynolds 531. Could be the case with your frame too.The lugs of your frame are Bocama Super Professional. Along with the absence of mudguard eyelets on the dropouts of your frame, and the double derailleur cable holders makes me tend to believe it is serious racing frame.
You have got a very nice frame there.
After all I'm no expert. Hope what I gave you is correct and would help you identify the exact make/model of your frame.
Have a look at the following pages if you would like:

Dang123,
Would you be able to take a better shot of the signature?
Cinelli lugs were used by many bike builders, still they indicate a precious frame.
I like the lower lug of your head-tube. -

Now I have a picture with signature, unfortunately not very clear

This popped up on the bay, can anyone identify and date this?
What sort of price would you expect it to go for?

Hello!
I have a problem.. Last year I bought frameset from Ebay. It had Cannondale tags but I think it is not Cannondale because Cannondale have no steel framesets.. :D
All I know is it has been ridden by NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) team athlete in Germany. It has no serial/frame number.
Maybe you guys can help me to identify this frame builder. Here are some photos ==>

Yes, definitely not a 'dale!!! but it still looks like a pretty good bike
What do the other stickers say - I can see there's a Dura Ace sticker on the Seattube and what looks like a Kettler on the top tube and something else on the chainstay.
The headset looks like a Hatta or similar Japanoiserie. and the fork crown is rather nice, but not of a style that's been particularly common since the 60's... -

get a bit of paper and do a rubbing with a pencil, it will reveal the signature for sure. me thinks u haz a quality frame. -
• #2588
When I bought it it had Campagnolo Pista 165 crankset, 3TTT Record 84 stem, 3ttt Forma SL handlebar, Dura-Ace headset and 27mm seatpost made in Italy.
Yes it had KETTLER sticker on top tube but I think that was fake..
There is shimano Dura-Ace EX sticker on seattube. -
• #2589
Yes - it's about as likely to be a Kettler as it is to be a 'dale...
A mix of italian and japanese components doesn't help to narrow it down.
27.0 seatpost is also inconclusive, could be plain gauge 531 or something italian.... Assuming it's not the original paint, I think the track ends are probably the best place to start.
Does it have a frame serial# anywhere - on the bottom bracket, track end, fork steerer tube or seat-lug? -
• #2590
No unfortunately it has no serial numbers..
It could be repainted, but paint quality is high and those purple marks looks like custom painted. -
• #2591
might be makers mark on the steerer tube? but that would only identify the fork for sure.

It's got wrap around seat stay caps that look a lot like you'd get on a Bernard Carré, one of the most respected builders in France. Although I'd have thought they'd have his name on. The parts are a mix as others have said, but Super Record cranks, Superleggeri pedals and Record hubs all have some value. I actually think the lugs look more like Prugnat S4s or Bocama Competition because there doesn't seem to be the extra thick supports of the Super Professional model.
I bought this bike in France, most of the part are campagnolo except for the seat which is concor and the Handle bars and stem which are cinelli. The gears are gear leavers are shimano. could anyone help me to identify the frame. I also wondered how much I could maybe get for this beauty?? Thanks
also if anyone interested just inbox me because i may be selling it.Here is a link to the photos
