Hey,
Can anybody knowledgeable with Campag stuff ID these for me..
They were sold as chorus pedals, but I have a feeling they might be athena..?
Also a quick valuation would be much appreciated..they are in v good condition just need a good clean/polish.
Thanks in advance.
The back plate on Athena pedales doesnt curve around at the outboard end as much as those on Chorus pedals (more like 45 degrees vs 90), hard to say definitively from the angle (the two pedals look different tbh), but the one nearest looks like Athena.

Wondered if anyone could help me identify my old track frame, I bought it about 5 years ago it didn't come with original paint and i just got it powder coated at the time.
Stupidly i didn't check for any only decals under the crap paint before it was stripped. When i bought it i was told it was a 50's British track frame, with Nevorex Lugs, it has a English BB and the seat post is 22.2 i think.
The only identiflying marks is it has 5765 stamped on the BB shell and fork.
Any help identifying it would be awesome..
After a bit more digging it seems likely my frame is a late F. H. Carpenter 'Olympic Pursuit', just waiting on confirming the year to see if it was made in London by the man himself or by Swindon Cycles.
But it has the double plate fork crown, came to me originally with a Stronglite Competition headset and shares identical features to the model described here.http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/carpenter-gill7l.jpg

Airplane tubing? Nice! I'd say anywhere between 1999 and 2011, The one (Rabobank) I used to ride was a 2000 edition and was built exactly the same. My dad rides it now so I don't have it at hand to check the numbers. Will have a peek when I'm at my parents' place.
btw There's a 'Colnago Official' Facebook group nowadays, maybe you can shoot some pics their way
Yes, Airplane tubing! Thnx for the info Peet!!

Hi there, can anyone help me identify this frame?
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/62/bike1.png/
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/444/bike2i.png/
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/690/bike3u.png/It's 631 with 531 forks and track ends although it has mudgaurd eyelets and brake cable eyelets. It had pete dunn decals on it which have been taken off by the previous owner though it still has a pete dunn headbadge on the front. It has fancy chromed lugs and i checked under the bottom bracket and found the serial number 8210, theres also what looks like a small 'SL' logo whatever that is? There's also a cut out heart shape under the BB shell, i don't know if any of this is helpfull. The person i bought it off was under the impression it was a bob jackson but i don't know why. Can anyone help? I wan't to get some decals on the frame.

Cheers

Falcon.
They had the rights to use the name back in the 70's and 80's. Afraid that under the paintwork, it's nothing special. -

I've test ridden that bike, light! Pete Dunn of Cottingham was a cyclist from Hull, which to my understanding and I've seen a few others used to re badge colnagos!!!
You might have something quite special there! -

Am trying to identify a bike I bought a few years ago, it has been refurbished at some point by Argos but am totally stumped. Fork steerer is marked Reynolds 531 Butted and has same number as frame. The frame number is EMP 78.171, could be 7B.171 and it has been suggested it could be an Emperor or Emperor Sport. It is quite distinctive where the rear stays butt to the seat tube and is a very light bike for what I guess to be a 70's frame, the whole bike comes in at 9.12kg or 20lb 1oz.
Some pictures of the bike, lugs and forks

You might have something quite special there! The person i bought it from has put a colnago sticker on the frame, did colnago make frames with 631, Didn't they use columbus? Also is there anyway to determine if it is a colnago? I know it has long shen lugs but i guess loads of frames have them regardless of tubing... did you ride it in sheffield when it was on ebay?

I rode it in Hull, maybe he moved?
I can not help with anymore info, however the bike felt light and stiff and very responsive!
At the time I had a Harry hall believe to be Columbus tubing and it felt very similar!
Just ride the hell out of it and enjoy it! -

Yeah it's a really nice bike, it's my only bike now and will be for the unforseeable future so it's definatly gonna be ridden constantly! Finding out about it is just something to distract me from work etc... Thanks for the help!

I have a Heuvelmans cyclocross frame that I bought off a friend who bought it off here. It's got Campy drop outs and fork ends and Reynolds 531 decals on the fork. It has no water bottle braze ons, but does have mudguard eyelets (front and rear), but there's no way to attach mudguards, because the forks aren't drilled for brake, and nor is the rear brake bidge. It obviously has canti bosses. Takes a 26.8mm seat post. Any idea what it is?
I'll take some more pics of lugs etc tonight.

Thanks for the quick reply, I thought it wouldn't be anything too good. I plan on making a single speed conversion out of it.
It depends on which model it is.
The top model was Reynolds 531 and had campagnolo dropouts.Yours has a nervex head lug so it's not THAT cheap.....

The best thing about them though is the paint/stickers - whatever you do, don't paint it! - at a quick glance it'll pass for the real thing !!!

If it helps, I think it is a Jacques Anquetil frame, made (usually) by Raleigh for Ron Kitching. Beryl Burton, in particular, used on on the track.
Not sure why the photo did not work..!
Still looking into these panniers
