That sticker was certainly applied to GP4's (along with GEL330's and MA40's and possibly Open 4CD's) - Velobase is pretty good for this sort of thing.
Here's their entry on GP 4

Thanks Rik Van Looy...the site it excellent. I noticed the label is lightly different to mine. (Double stainless eyelet - 650V) GL330 is same....

Super, glad you found a match - Velobase is splendid for component identification - and as I recall, the GL330 is a bit lighter than the GP4 - bonus!!

Got this wheel for free today from my LBS as a replacement for a wheel with stripped threads.
Not sure what the brand of the hub is, although it's definitely a rebranded On-One, and it's laced to a Rigida Flyer SL rim.
It's double fixed and 32h.

Can anybody tell me whether this is a Chas Roberts Stratton frameset. It is a rather fetching colour but brazed eyelets on top tube to take rear brake cable, drilled fork and rear bridge? Bit of a mash-up...would welcome identification. Have further pics if it helps.

I've taken some more pics in the hope someone will be able to shed some light on this mystery...
I believe that serial number makes the frame a Corsa in *9cm size.
Is the seat post 27.2mm?
What have you done with the frame so far?

I just bought this NOS Colnago Dream art decor.
Does anyone know when it was build? I can't find to seem any logic in Colnago's serial numbers or a decent database..
The serial numbers are: 1D997 and D285
Cheers and thanks!

oops I did it again
Just acquired another unidentified £10 rat bike frameset.
This time it's a vintage tourer - as usual it has a shite red spray job but there are plenty of distinguishing features...
The first is the bottom bracket which is marked "British Made CR2"
This sort of thing was common on Flying Scots - don't know whether it showed up on any other framebuilders...?
The Serial# is on the rear dropout - also common with Flying Scot.
The Frame number is P4211 - I know that Flying Scot used letters to denote years (P=1971 which would seem reasonable for the frame), but I understand that they had theirs the other way round 4211P rather than P4211 - are there any Flying Scot specialists on the forum who can confirm?
The seat stays are pencil thin and nicely chamferred at the seatlug
There are also a pair of curious bosses at the top and bottom of the seat tube, I suspect that they're old pump bosses that have been ground or chopped off
There are no cable routing braze ons, just the standard chrome plated cable guides on the top tube and down tube - the brake clips are Dia Compe and the gear clips Shimano.
There's another curious boss just below the rear canti mount on one side only
and the head tube lugs are quite distinctive too - plain and (IMO) curiously attractive...
Any ideas????
Cheers -

Worked out what the curious braze on is -
(from the Flying Scot Flickr feed)
And the other unidentified bosses are also common to flying scot - (pump bosses as previously stated)
Looks like I'll need to give Bob reid a shoutStarting to wonder if the canti-bosses are original though!!

Hey,
Can anybody knowledgeable with Campag stuff ID these for me..
They were sold as chorus pedals, but I have a feeling they might be athena..?
Also a quick valuation would be much appreciated..they are in v good condition just need a good clean/polish.
Thanks in advance.

That is a really classy frame -real quality lug filing/shaping.
Couldn't say if it's a Roberts, but the cable guides could well be original as many frames that were built as fixed for the road -path racers were made this way.
Here's a Roberts I sold on eBay a while ago - one of the most beautiful frames that's been through my hands- but made for a midget unfortunately

Hi,
Looking at picking up a cheap peugeot frame for a build project. Wondering if anyone can help with the serial the seller has providedhe has given me this
Hi
Y207 02135 stamped on rear dropout
2534934 on top line of paper label
T10 bottom left
80 bottom right
The 2 long numbers I can read off pretty clearly.
The 2 short numbers on the paper label, not so much so don't hold them to be gospel.
If you can identify it, please let me know.
I would say it was carbolite. My understanding is that from 1979 they started a system of year/month and then model no?
So maybe it's 1981 July...
any ideas of extracting any more info from model no or serial as to what frame actually is
here is a pic

If a Peugeot expert happens to read this thread...
I've also got two Peugeot frames I'd like to put a date on, serial numbers are like this:
PH8SL BJ57 Y411 10500 (I know 57 is the frame size but that's it)
Second Frame is:
5183522 PH45M 50 (I know M is for Mixte and 50 is 50cm frame size)
Thanks

I've recently acquired an italianate whip on the ebay for £11.50 (frame only, no forks)
The frame number (107.) is stamped on the rear dropouts - which are campag 1010 or whatever you call them.
There's a little ridge to locate the band on D/T shifters, and the rear mech cable routing is a stop on the d/t around the radius of the chainring, then you run a cable outer up to another stop behind the bb. there's a band-on front mech (also early 70's campag) - but I've no idea how the cable would have been routed to that...
I posted these pics on the Classic Rendezvous forum - those chaps seriously know their onions - I was advised that if there are cable stops for rear mech only it must be a custom UK time trial frame - especially with all that drilium. The lug filing shows it to be the work of a high end builder, and the 3-digit serial makes it likely to be Ron Cooper - I called Ron this afternoon and fired over some photos so we shall see how things pan out on that...

Seat stay caps don't look like Ron Cooper, he generally used long very elegant caps.
Looks English though. -

I have these Campagnolo Pista cranks but they look different than the usual record ones with the
ridges along the crank arm. what are they? -

Super record.
Nice.

Here's a Roberts I sold on eBay a while ago - one of the most beautiful frames that's been through my hands- but made for a midget unfortunately
Fuuuuuu you might just have inadvertently identified my frame's builder.
Mine looks extremely similar to your old Roberts, though without cable guides and sadly lacking the stamps on the fork crown. Also my seat stay bridge isn't drilled.
However the lugs look identical, and they both share dat fastback...
Mine has Campag ends (look slightly different to yours) and an RGF (if I remember rightly) bb shell. Would this be similar to yours?
Post powdercoat (old paint was straight over bare metal, flaked off after touching anything!)
I am sadly quite excited by the prospect of discovering this. Have been wondering since I got it!

But no info on the lugs?
No, the only comment on the lugs was that they appear to have been hand filed by a master builder,so i'm guessing the pierced lug shared by our respective whips is not a stock item, but more likely it's ither the same builder,or just the fashion of the day. Whawt& where is your serial#?

• #2425
I think that are chorus.
chorus and athena pedals are the same.
Sorry...didn't notice it was upside down.
Its says ' EMR7 - Stainless eyelet, Hard anodized treatment 650W'
Thanks for the reply....
