I don't need it/I need the flat rewiring more than I need a new bike.

• #728
And I've just spent a few quid on the Oak.

But one day!

Because you are powerful and you know that with the flat rewired, neither the wind nor your competitors can hold you back.
ftfy Dammit.

Sell some of your vast array of powermeters, those flexy Zipps and shift that piece of shit Cannondale (it's 6 years old, dammit) and you'd be most of the way there.

Hah! I like that old piece of shit Cannondale, it's still a far better bike than I am a rider, despite its great age.
I've started saving for a new bike however, quite possibly the TMR01, which will mark my move to 11 speed- although I would hope to be able to upgrade the Oak to 11 speed with a new cassette/freehub and firmware re-flash.
I reckon the TMR01 with some HED Stinger 9's would at least look fast with me on it.

I'm trying to convince a friend to get a BMC Grandfondo 105 spec.
Its 11999 viking crowns. I'm sure you could get more for the money (que forum suggesting Canyon, Caad etc.). But it looks a nice bike for the use in these parts. I've been hankering for a wet weather roadie, with discs and tyre clearance. Much like Dammits Oak. Then I saw this...

My girlfriend is looking at that, I think it looks cracking- and as you point out, very similar indeed to my Oak.

I meant more the usage, than the bike TBH.
The pic on Evans doesnt look to have mudguard eyelets. That one does though.
I'll soon have a fat bike for extreme nordic winter, and I have the BMC for fine summer days. Yet here on the west coast the climate is inbetween 70% of the time. I seem to have loads of bikes and no mudguards. Not sure how that happened.

Not on the UCI list from 4 days ago; DQ the Aussie!

The seat tube junction is minging; DQ the Aussie!

BMC are Swiss. DQ the Swiss.
If the UCI rules were actually taken into account the whole field would be DQ'd for using skinsuits or any other clothing "designed to influence the performance of the rider, such as reducing air resistance"..

^^^ no - I like them!
^^ yes I do. Long femurs.
^ thanks mate. Really happy with it. Goes like stink, don't even notice the extra weight climbing.

• #746
Make sense, how was it in comparison to your Specialized?
-
• #747
So yeah, I joined the BMC club today. Need to trim the steerer and switch out the calipers for my black PX superlights. Might try some Q-Rings on the Rotors too.
I'm totally 'stoked' on it.still very envious of this

Stiffer, in every department- makes you want to put the hammer down on every flat and sprint every climb out of the saddle. Descends like a stone 'on rails' and it seems pretty comfortable too (4.5 hours on Sunday with no complaints).
The fit is much better for me too. Only negative thing is that it's a bit heavier than the S-Works, but I think that's the big heavy Red crankset replacing the fancy bb30 S-Works one rather than there being a huge difference in f+f weight (though there is some). On the plus side, I will hopefully have lost the weight difference off me in the next month, so it's a non issue really.
