I have just popped in to this thread to say that its title makes me do a bit of sick every time I see it bumped. Tickling your fancy? ffs it's laughable in its fucking roadie dorkdom.
Nice bikes mind.

that TMR01 superfancystealthyaerobike definitely does it for me.
-
• #656
although I'd want one in white.
-
• #657
White is heavy, according to Dov.

anyone know where i can get an slr01 frame 2011 in a smallish size?
-
• #659
I just don't get it how the UCI homologated that TMR01.
Will be presented officially around TdF prologue near Liege next week, but still no invitation on my door mat.
IMHO one of the ugliest bikes ever. Doesn't make a lot of sense for me personally either. Brings me home earlier by 1 minute or so. As long as the brakes don't fail completely, or touch rim walls all the time. Functional disaster, I expect. -

V brakes?
-
• #661
Yes, similar to TM01 time trial bike.

• #662
^^ i hope it brings the BMC team in 1 minute earlier each day at TDF and as far as the engineering goes, the BMC's ive seen look well put together..

Be interesting to see how the V-brake feel with the brake levers.
-
• #665
They feel fine with the bar-end brake levers on the Timemachine TM01 (same brake/fork) so see no reason why they wouldn't work well.
-
• #666
Must confess I don't know much about those TT brake levers (apart from the one I got), but do I understand it correctly that some TT brake levers have a different pull ratios to the road brake/shifter?

Anyone ridden a Streetracer ? Considering getting the Tiagra one on Cyclescheme after my last road bike got stolen.
I have the tiagra model i was tempted to get the ultegra but i was advised to save my money and spend it on a new wheel set.
all i can say is the bike is just simply amazing as stiff as you want and very responsive It is my pride and joy by far!

Just not fair now I have to get one just to hang on the wall and look at. looks to sexy to ride.

Silvan Dillier of BMC rode Gent 6 day on a fugly looking new frame

I'm seriosly contemplating getting a BMC SL01 with Ultegra. It's on sale for 2200 USD seems like an unbeatable price, is the bike awesome? I haven't found much reviews for the 2012 model

I have the SL01 (2011).
Bought the frame and built it up with Ultegra, RS80s and 3T finishing kit. Absolutely lovely bike to ride. Very controlled and with the fluted seat tube, puts fantastic power down both in and out of the saddle (especially if you're a little more portly than average, like me).
Here is a shit picture of mine built up:

nice and it looks good too!
people on other forums tend to say that the frame/bike is too harsh on bad roads, what do you think? also what size is yours and how tall are you?
-
• #673
No such thing as too harsh on bad roads really. It can all be tuned through wheel, tyre, bar, saddle choices and is affected by rider weight.

I have the 2010 SL01, which may or may not be the same as the 2012 (did they go all carbon?) Anyway, mine has an Alu main triangle, carbon stays and full carbon fork. I don't find it harsh at all. It's a waaaaay smoother ride than my fuji track (steel) for comparison. The bike feels rock solid when riding but it is certainly not relaxed - the handling at speed can get a little twitchy at the rear. Keep the streampost quill locking system nice and clean though and move it every few weeks otherwise they tend to sieze up.

I'm 174cm and have the Small (51cm seat tube). It has an effective TT of 53cm which fits me perfectly w/ a 110mm stem although has quite a high saddle to bar drop (around 150mm) if that's not your thing.
As for comfort, I have done plenty of long distance rides along less than perfect roads and it's always been super smooth. It will never feel like steel but the integrate seatpost removes most of the bumps. It's certainly less harsh than my alu cross bike. As 6pt says, it's all about the saddle, bar, wheel and tyre choices.
For me I have:
RS80s w/ Conti GP4000s
Fizik Arione
3T Ergonova Pro bars w/ Lizard Skin tapeI'd get the bike if i were you; you wont regret it!!
New aero frame
