Sounds to me like the owner doesn't know the potential.

Anybody got a campag bb tool?
-
• #255
Calling Marcus...
Though, I think he lent it to someone a while back and hasn't had it back?
-
• #256
I'll hunt whoever it was down!

I'm the guilty party on that bb tool! Let me know when you want it
-
• #258
Give it to Blake or Steve and I'll get it off them some time.
It's the Veloce tool, which is only really useful for the Veloce BB.
I think I also have the newer BB tool too which is more of a splined type arrangement.

I need the splined one for a record bb.

• #260
Blakey, need to arrange getting those rims off you bro!
-
• #261
Not mine anymore mate, sent you a pm a couple of weeks back.

I think I have that tool. I have three different splined bb tools so it's probably one of them.
Does anyone have one of those tools for hammering out 1" headset cups? I need the proper tool, not an old bit of pipe as I'd like to get the cups out cleanly.

I was hoping my cassette lockring tool would work but it's a tiny bit big.

I was going to buy that tool, Marcus, but a hammer and a big screw driver did the trick! I need a headset press :/ I wonder if Albany Cycles will let me use theirs?
-
• #265
You can get one on ebay for a couple of quid. People make them out of threaded pipe and nylon washers.

i expect theyll charge you for the labour rather than lending you the tool. if you're at a push you can use two big blocks of wood and a mallet.

I saw those, and considered it but I'd like to think I could make my own (but the hassle etc it'd probably be worth taking the lazy route). End of the day, I want to do it this weekend ideally (as long as I get the paint stripped).

I've done it the mallet/wood way before, but as Albany is within 5 minutes walking distance, and I know the guys in there a little bit I may get away with it... Equally, I'm OK with paying Si to do it for me. Support your LBS and all that :)

Wanted: silver quill pedals of some sort. MKS Sylvan/MKS AR-1/AR-2 style ideall. I can get some AR-2's for about £14 or so, so ideally something cheaper than this! :)

Got - two 1" threaded headsets, rusty but bearing surfaces are okay. Free pickup in city centre.
Also Steve I've got some 1960s quill pedals which resemble MKS Sylvans. They're pretty rusty and I think all the ball-bearings have fallen out, but you can have them for nothing if you want them - they'll probably clean up well enough to use on a beater.

Interested in those headsets mate.

You can have 'em. PM me

I also just found:
Early 90s Shimano non-sealed bottom bracket, standard fitment, axle measures at 112mm - I'm not sure what model it is, but everything else off that bike was 105, so I presume it's the same. Not perfect but very good condition.
Fiver pickup?
