sad but true!
I find it difficult to recommend, many dealers claim to be very experienced Brompton specialists, but being my negative self I could not recommend it simply because they do not have access to the correct information, spares and tools. - especially going by my telephone calls with them!
This is clearly not going to be the case for every shop, but I would just head over to the Brompton Junction on Covent Garden.

Seconded. Top guys.

I got my front hinge replaced by bikefix mentioned before and they were really good

Headset for the brompton, what's the cost effective non bling option?
Any respect to anyone riding 50x12t single speed, not for me!
-
• #6281
It's not the same as riding a normal sized bike. The gear inches need to be much higher to account for the smaller wheels.
-
• #6282
But don't forget gear inches. 50/12 on a Brompton is like 50/20 on a 700c wheel.

Go see Dave at lmnh, he is pretty on it with his Brompton, he has mended many over his years there.
Also as @maynardeames said Brompton Junction is another one I would recommend going to. Both around that area I would give them a double thumbs up.

Joseph Kuosac, £19.99, black or silver, sealed bearing!
-
• #6286
What makes it better than stock?
-
• #6287
Stock are all sealed, and steel, if you have a superlight brom it’s unsealed and aluminium!
-
• #6288
Yup, pre 2013...

Can someone recommend the best 58t chainring that doesn't look like it'll fold at the first sign of pressure?
-
• #6290
narrow wide, or the one with bash is normal single ring.
-
• #6291
Cheers, I like the one with the integrated chainguard #functionbeforefashion
-
• #6292
I do too!

Out of interest Ryan, what happens to Brompton's warranty when SJS retrofit someone else's parts to a new bike?
-
• #6295
If it’s basic parts like saddle grips tires, nothing, if it’s changing the make up of the bike i.e. swapping fork and triangle to run a Rohloff and disc brakes, Brompton do not endorse this and all warranty is transferred to Thorn Cycles trading as SJSCycles.
You obviously also have the product warranty, so Rohloff warranty, Vostok/kinetics warranty etc.

So where will I find a pre-2013 ISO BB? Can't find one in Oz...
-
• #6297
I'll have one for you? I'm swapping for square taper on my 2011, you're welcome to my bb
-
• #6298
I think I probably do, not sure where, @youramericanlover will have one shortly it seems, mines in one of many boxes..
-
• #6299
I'll take them!! If you can post to Oz... I need a pre-2013 68mm x 119mm ISO square taper BB, are we talking about the same thing? I'll be swapping to my old square taper Sugino 75 track cranks...
Seems like I'd better stock up on the things, rare AF...
Best so far. Certainly a lot nearer than Bridgwater which I'm sure would be fantastic but is a little far.
Not listed as a Brompton dealer though, I was under the impression I should go somewhere with the specialist hinge knowledge?
