No I didn't, but I saw the aftermath. Looked gnarly.

Sorry I never got to chance to see and say thank you for the light mount! Wonderful day out though, very impressed with the amount of effort everyone got dressed up for this event and some proper pimped up Brompton as well!

Was the winner on 2 speeds or 6?
-
• #4655
Winner was on a completely stock 2speed - with Marathons!
Made a mockery of those with mega customised bikes

Mega. Even gearing? Absolute beast then?

• #4657
Pretty much. He's a trackie I think.

Can you get the front light bracket from the brompton/cateye light on its own?
From this https://www.condorcycles.com/products/brompton-rechargeable-front-light-with-bracket-cateye-volt400#
If you already had the lights?

Not entirely surprise! the stock gearing is reasonably high as it is.

Not always the gear , it’s what you can do with it.
Often wonder how bad their bicycle would have to be for a pro rider not to be able to beat an average joe (like myself) on a race ready bicycle. -

@mdcc_tester will be along shortly to tell you how he did a few seconds off his PB in a TT on a 26” mtb

Frayed knot, but then my 26" MTB had 2.3" DH tyres and weighed about 15kg last time I TTed on it. I'm out of the house so I can't check the exact numbers, but even with my small engine that bike was costing less than a minute per mile vs. a tricked out T3. Short of deliberately handicapping him with seized bearings or a saddle bag full of bricks, a pro/elite who can ride at 30mph on the optimum bike can probably do 25mph on any properly maintained and adjusted bike.

That’s alright!! We had a pretty good weekend, didn’t make it on the social ride today, little human doesn’t get on so well with rain just yet so we waited til it died off and had a sweet ride around then.
In other news, my dad met us yesterday, within minutes had stolen the demo bike I was on to have a go... now he’s all like ah yes, tell me about my ratios and sprockets 😂

What CK headset do I need for a brompton?
-
• #4672
Lovely little'un :)
-
• #4673
1 1/8
TBH not really worth it, if you wanna lose weight, get the alu version of the Brompton headset.
-
• #4674
You need the 2nut, the grippy is too tall, I got some on order for sjs last week, about 2-3 weeks away as saddleback don’t stock them...
Can just use a Joseph kuosac otherwise, sealed bearing and £20

Ah! My bad.
Nice work! Did you see the crash at the end? Just past us flat out and then we noticed a Brompton flying :/ didn’t look too great... and the lass mid way round had a right old tumble on the finishing straight :!
