Brompton owners

On the Brompton yahoo group, a few have had major issues with those seat pins. Generally around the clamp area.

I have one but be careful when you order the ones on eBay there's a light one and one that feels like aluminium. Also the seller/supplier I used for the purchasse of two has changed the style but you can still get the original style on request.
Price approx £55 incl postage

Oh now I'm confused, the Yahoo group reckons that J&L have changed the style slightly to prevent breakages (the type that is like the original seatpost)... I think the rockbros ones look a bit better.

This is the one I ordered but requested the old style of cradle.
New cradle is made of carbon.

OK, I'm about to buy a Brompton... The one @coppiThat is moving on... M6R with what looks like a short seatpost, I'm just under six foot tall, am I gonna need the long one?

I have no idea what I am doing...

Normal seatpost should be fine, unless you have long legs for your height.

That'll be the standard post fitted but in the picture it's not fully extended.

I'm 5'11 and find the normal one too short but it probably also depends on the saddle...

I'm a 32 inside leg and swapped the long seatpost for a normal one. I find the normal one to be the perfect length when fully pulled out, which saves time. With the longer one I had to mess around getting it to the right height every time I unfolded it.

I didn't get in touch, been scanning Gumtree and the classifieds here... Rueing the time I didn't buy that brace of London 2012 Bromptons for sweet fuck all when I had the chance...

You can get an insert for the seat tube which you trim so the seat always pulls to the same height.

I just stuck a piece of duck tape around at the correct place. Pulls up that high then stops

nah, I'm going with my initial response, even though I've seen more and more of them, the raw lacquer finish is the one for me..
