That saddle to bar drop...
Hehe! as I said, it's a mistake, it's normally about 4 to 5 inches lower than that.

I know, but would be fun to give it a whir.
Next thing you'll put TT bar extension on it.

Is anyone looking for a B&W Brompton hard flight case ?
I am going to sell this ...I bought it 18 months ago and it has been no where apart from a return flight to Spain where it sat in the hotel room unmoved for the week.
It has been 'wheeled' for probably no more than 400 yards/metres.
Perfect condition - no marks/scuffs.
I can't see me using it in the near future and its taking up a lot of space in my tiny cave.
If you are interested or know someone interested let me know/spread the word.£100
thanks

I'm on the look out for a bag for my brompton that:
1) fully zips up on all sides
2) folds away to fit into a small-medium size saddle pack
3) has enough spare space for a layer of bubble wrap on the bike. It's for flying with, last time I used one of those cheap laundry bags, but it wasn't very robust and the handles ripped the first time I used it.
Any ideas?

That looks pretty good. Could you tell me roughly how small that folds to?

Hi all,
I've been a long standing member of LFGSS but know very little about Bromptons, I'm about to get £1000 to put towards a Brompton via the Cycle to Work scheme. I will use it to commute 5-7 miles a day.
A few questions:- Where is the best place to buy?
- Which one should I go for?
cheers
Thanks for all your replies, my voucher came through last week and I bought a 2013 M3L Raw Lacquer from Ealing Cycles on Saturday.
Collecting it this coming Saturday.
Cheers!

Have you contact Velocio before spamming this forum?
What do you want ?

Ignore it.
edscoble was responding to spam instead of reporting it, even though he tells others to report it and not to respond to it.
The spam has since been deleted, his post is not a reply to yours.

Actually I did report it, it was after I realised he was posting in other topic, I just forget to delete it.

So has anyone worked out the website with the mks pedal holders?

This B&W bag arrived yesterday:
Perfect for my trip. There's enough room for a layer of heavy duty bubble wrap and two full compression sacks from my Orteleib Brompton bag.
It also folds small enough to fit into the Brompton dust cover saddle bag. It's a tight squeeze but it does fit.
Feels like I've finally sorted my ride-away-from-the-airport-setup :-) thanks paininthe

Does anybody know if you can get a clip/adapter to put Brompton bags on other bikes?
i.e. a generic version of this:I was interested in doing this as well, but did not find anything. Decided it was more popular to go the other way, and adapt normal pannier style bags to work with the Brompton carrier frame. Earlier in the thread you will also find people using Klik-Fix mounts instead because the luggage options are better (and cheaper).
I know this is not helpful if you have already invested in any of the Brompton bags, but might offer you an alternative. So far I have not bothered butchering a pannier bag to use the carrier frame, since a saddle bag plus small ruck sack has served me well so far.

I have a very seldom used T-Bag for sale. I've only used it for the weekly shop a handful of times, it's actually far too big for my requirements!
It has the shoulder strap and hi-viz cover, unused, in the pocket. There's a small 10p sized hole in the netting part. Obvs includes the frame inside.
£50?
Drop me a PM.

Question about the 6-speed version.
My girlfriend got an M6L last week for commuting which I borrowed yesterday to take to Brighton so I could ride around and watch her do the 1/2 marathon. CSB.
Anyway she got the 6-speed because we live at the top of Streatham, meaning big hills. I couldn't work out for the life of me how the gearing is ordered. Logically I'd expect:
1 – hub gear 1, large cog
2 – hub gear 2, large cog
3 – hub gear 3, large cog
4 – hub gear 1, small cog
5 – hub gear 2, small cog
6 – hub gear 3, small cogBut it felt possibly like it could have been
1 – hub gear 1, large cog
2 – hub gear 1, small cog
3 – hub gear 2, large cog
4 – hub gear 2, small cog
5 – hub gear 3, large cog
6 – hub gear 3, small cogTo be honest I was very tired by that point and I'd had a few pints.
Help?
Loved the Brompton by the way - especially good for taking on the train then taking round a crowed urban area with lots of stops. Possible contender for a future bike.

It's the latter. The derailleur provides intermediate points between the hub gearing - it's effectively a half-step system.
