Does anyone ever feel a powerful urge to pick off scabs and chew on them?
Boogers and Scabs are very different. You shouldn't get the two confused

Pick off yes. Chew no.
Same with picking your nose. Working with lots of dust creates lots of dry itchy snot, eating it would be like spooning in what you pick up with the vacuum cleaner -

I thought this was a pretty epic scab... all healed up now though :-)

I don't need to shave my legs, I have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alopecia_areata over my entire body so i'm super fast yeah?!

There a few types and I believe its an MSRA type infection.
Yep, caught the same from the swimming pool when I was 12 and never shook it off.
There are no antibiotics which can kill it off properly, so every infected spot, every cut can turn nasty. -

Quite handy in that way. But then you can't grow an impressive heard (assuming you're male)

Yes it does have its disadvantages (Dreaming of epic beards), but it saves me money on all kinds of hair products. Also every girl I know including my GF is jealous of my legs.

• #311
Yeah, you don't get those horrible itchy ingrown hairs.
-
• #312
Yeah I've heard those can become rather painful aswell.

ball shavin is a thing most men have to do, specially if you ride bikes,
...I get tempted to give it a go every summer... but never have. I think I'm going to try it this year, so can we get technical?
Where do you actually shave to? I do all my swim training in speedos so to avoid the "mohair shorts" I'm going to need to go right up to the crotch, but then I'm scared that I'll get stubble rash when I'm riding?
And REALLY?? Most cyclists shave their balls?? There's no way I'm putting anything that sharp near my scrotum!

It sucks when you shave shit. There's always a risk of ingrown hair going AWOL.

Never had a problem, which is more than can be said for my chin. Seriously, if you can shave your face, you can shave any other part of your body and find it easier. Mach III and Dove soap in the shower, FWIW.

Since January I have given up shaving my face which possibly makes the idea of shaving my legs somewhat odd. I guess the extra drag from my face will be balanced out by my new aero/hydro legs!

I don't know about swimming, but on the bike the air in front of your chin is basically stalled anyway, so a beard doesn't drag.

au naturel for sure

Are you sure?

Shaved all the way. I started doing it about 6 months after I started road riding...it feels nice and looks pro(even if my performance isn't)!
-
• #324
Shaved and loving it, girlfriends never minded, and wouldn't date someone who would make a fuss.
Oh and I'm one of those cunts who have yet to race. -

Did it about a week ago and can't really say I like it. Even right after shaving I find I get shaving rash all up my upper thighs, particularly where my bibs and the tops of my leg warmers have rubbed the follicles raw.
It did feel faster in the pool though!
Now just waiting for it to grow back... I might try that cream that dissolves the hair (imac/veet??) to see if thats better, but all in all I'm not convinced.
Oh, and my girlfriend is working abroad at the moment and despite me mentioning it in more than one email she has steadfastly avoided mentioning it at all - possibly not a great sign!
My own scab related question:
Does anyone ever feel a powerful urge to pick off scabs and chew on them?
