I thought the Great Nod of 2013 had started early this morning when it looked like a queue for the showers.

Seriously considering getting some old glove cutted up to make pattern out of them.

And that's why I never wear gloves in summer.

I think the old school glove tan is rad. Girlfriend does not agree.
Burned arms ain't cool, though...

I remember when I spent seasons snowboarding. The dude with the most obvious goggle tan was a winner.
Doesn't work with cycling gloves though. -

Did the route of the Kentish Killer sportive this morning (albeit a bit different at the start) with Airtime Al from the forum.
Lunatic ironman in trainin Al was falling to bitrs with shin splints, a buggered knee and general overtraining. So the first 25 miles or so were a little start stop as the poor guy limped along, refusing to give up. Once the silly sod worked out that he needed to go home I kept going round the route and felt pretty ace all the way through, but the headwinds heading home were tough.
Saw a chap with a castelli (I think) beanie, sunglasses and black jersey twice around the Ashdown forest. I swear I've seen him about 3 weeks in a row - if you're on here, make y'sen known!

Cross country fun in Woking on the cyclocross bike. This route makes for an excellent training loop: deep mud, standing water, sand, grass, tarmac, barriers. Heartily recommended. Would make a good night-ride route, too.
I was on for a fair time until I received the comedy 'nail in tyre' instaflat at mile 27 out of 34. Ah well.

^^ Jim, you seem to specialise in rides with saw tooth profiles!
I think we've passed each other in Essex a few times with Wrongcog and Bigpaintbrush. Let me know if you fancy hooking up with me and HMS for a Surrey/Kent loop some time. Looks like you've got some good routes.

^Hey Benj,
Yeh, I look out for the hilly monsters, as, being a pathetic skinny waif of a man, it's the only chance I've got. Would be great to ride with a few other forummungers, so yes, let's ride!
I may go for a gently spin round essex tomorrow morning depending how I feel after today's savagery and heading out tonight. Will PM you my number

75 mile ride to the Cat and Fiddle and back via Macclesfield Forest and a network of back roads I've not done in years, going through Wincle, Wilboarclough and Langley.
Beautiful day, but untreated, unclassified roads means my bike is covered in shite....

Had one of those perfect rides today, nice warm temperatures with just enough of a headwind to keep things interesting. Punctured on the way to Henley and managed to put a bit of a cut in my tyre, so whacked a High 5 zero wrapper as a boot. Ridiculous number of MAMILs in Henley, saw a family of 4 all on matching Colnagos with carbon wheels. Madness. Legs were feeling good and the sun was really out when I got home so I grabbed another tube and rode out to Windsor and back. Smashing ride, I normally get bored on anything over 30 miles solo.

Today was glorious! The sunshine was a proper bonus to a good cycle out with the local group. We ended up in a village called Wray that has a scarecrow festival. I'm going to have to go & see this when it's on as apparently the whole village is decorated with them everywhere. The countryside round here really is beautiful & I'm so happy to be able to go out on my bike to enjoy it.

Wray, not Wrea ?
Was telling a fellow.ex lancastrian about your Pendle pics Betty, some.good riding there.
Another cracking new forest ride this morn, good to be out with guys who I'm usually working with for a change, and can alternate turns on front with, confident to sit close onto whilst cracking out a good pace. -

Definitely Wray, I remember looking at the signpost as I wasn't sure how it was written. The chaps I ride with really know their way round the area & are great guides (I follow blindly not knowing where I am).
Out and about this weekend with Rapha and the guys from the shop. Got a solid 150miles in
