Great ride today!
Headed out for a solo ride this morning here in Brussels because my usually buddy is away \foreveralone
But at the traffic lights just at the top of my street I met four brothers heading out on a spin and they invited me along! Naff all common language (I received a traditional British education. I can tell you all about ox-bow lakes but my French is crap) but very friendly bunch, a beautiful sunny day and 60km in the rolling countryside of Flanders. They claimed to have drunk a loada beer last night but they seemed pretty rapid to me. The Concorde and I did not embarass ourselves and I wasn't even last to the top of the 17%er at Oud Heverlee! Thankyou Charles, Louis, Henri and Igor!

One hour in the inner circle in Regents Park, 19.1mph Av. 70/80GI, almost 20miles of good oxygenation in between cars looking for parking, pedestrians crossing without watching and Boris bikes.
A good workout, but what a boredom. -

Based on him holding a Concorde, I'd guess he's in the middle.

just a 3 lap roll round richmond park with a mate which was not too bad as we seemed to be going the opposite way to the nodders and cars, the park is quite enjoyable if you ride with others.
no paincave action just a few short TT's.
flanders and roubaix next week so no need for any heroics.
the plastic fuji i have to ride is not as bad as i expected, the ride is quite firm. not a patch on a decent steel bike though. -

I think its fair to say that I'm pissed off with my road bike today. Had to give up after just two miles thanks the front mech blankly refusing to shift up to big ring, and no amount of fiddling with the barrel adjuster could persuade it otherwise. The fucking cable stretch on that bike is unreal, 6 months its been built, and still it hasn't settled down yet.

cycled from Battersea to Tunbridge Wells. Great lil route, lot fo nice views and 3 hours of great solo riding.
intrigued
What route did you take? I really hat cycling out of London, I find it such a bore. If I ride to visit my parents I'll go through tun wells though, so interested to know which way you took...some great lanes but also a fair few pesky hills.

Lovely afternoon in the Chilterns for me, and I even managed the dreaded Dolesden lane climb. (not recommended on 70" fixed)
(I am sort of magnetically attracted to it, as I have failed it in the past)
Reading Henley Hambleden Frieth Northend Christmas Common Cookley green Nettlebed Stoke row Kidmore End Reading.
Time to get the geared bike out now though! It's summer time! -

75 mile / 4300 ft charity ride in the Chilterns out of Aylesbury. Beaut day for it - cold n foggy early on then the sun came out. Riding with two others and only managed a lowly 22 kph average but still very enjoyable. Mostly flat but more hills than advertised including a couple of steep bastards (garmin said 28% on one) to liven things up. Being a charity do they had volunteer marshals at all the sketchy intersections which was a pleasent change from the usual minimalist sportive approach. Now have 2 months work scale that up to 200km for the Dragon Ride eep
Definitely recommend this ride should they run it again next year.

A surname would help.
But yes, I probably know who he is. The invasion has begun.Trip to the BMX track.
and then for ice cream and a ride around the marina.
The sun was out so it was heaving, she handled the traffic brilliantly. Some nobless wonder in an SLK got a tad impatient and beeped, best inult of the day was 'what a toast soldier'.
8ish miles
Great day out. -

57 minutes this evening!
wasn't it you that said no to velodrome on fitness? think you should reconsider if so!

Why thank you.
o.O
Yeah, nothing unusual whatsoever. Beer and burger in Brighton was most welcome.
ahem SS, I think you'll find :)
Still, it is not a machine built for going up hills (at least, not when paired with me). I was a total wreck riding back from London Bridge - I don't think I managed to get over 13mph and I'm usually doing 26! Went out for a drink with a friend and was in bed by 9. Didn't get up in time for the F1, so I'm watching the replay.
You were right about the Garmin directions - they were rather "creative".
