Anybody else been using bike-handling skills test track that Alderbourne Lane has become?
To the north of Pinewood Studios, it gives access to Fulmer, then Stoke Common
and a loop round Cliveden towards Taplow, from where there is a reduced traffic approach to Eton.
Wander across the pedestrianised bridge and reward yourself with lunch or coffee/cake at Artefood.
@NorthLondonLight devised this loop.
Well avoid Alderbourne Lane for four more days, as South Bucks Council have finally remembered the phone number of their term contractor and the resurfacing team is working down the lane for this week, 25-29th April. -

Not before time!!!!
With the road on the edge of Uxbridge having already been repaired we might have smooth tarmac for the whole of that loop.

There's still the pothole/gravel adventure of Harehatch Lane to the west of the A355.
Perhaps we should let South Bucks Council know about their next task? -

Finally managed to find myself in a position to ride the Oude Kwaremont, the Paterberg and the Koppenberg. I found the first two pretty manageable but the Koppenberg was fairly unpleasant. God knows what it must be like in the wet, in a peloton

Fearsome trio of climbs that! Kwaremont is looooong, hard to keep a good speed on the cobbles, on the mean slight incline (along where the vip-tents are during the Ronde) nearing the mainroad.

Tried to do an imperial century. Garmin went mental just outside Marlow. I had a massive sense of humor failure, and rode home the quickest way I knew.
For the bits that were nice- 10/10, sadly most was just suburban rubbish. -

Kwaremont is long but the gradient somehow didn't seem so bad. The tunnel of trees on the Koppenberg is what did for me, psychologically at least.

Riding through the pan flats of the very northern plains of Deutschland yesterday. Dykes. Thatched cottages. Bungalows. Farmers. Cross/head-winds. And everywhere the reek of shit. An olfactory horrorshow

And then today, Denmark. What a wonderful country it is. Even when inadvertently and unexpectedly finding myself on a lengthy section of gravel on brand new 25c GP5000 clinchers it was hard to not be awed by the majesty of the place. An abundance of space and the cleanest air I have ever inhaled. Was terrified of a puncture and/or slamming on the gravel, my HR monitor went into overdrive. I needn’t have worried, the tyres showered themselves in glory.

Ride a lap of Kent yesterday. Bit of a sore bum today. Unfortunately ran over a squirrel. Grateful it didn’t jump in to my wheel!

Fortunately there are no documented cases of a squirrel ever having jumped into a wheel

True. Would have been messy for both of us, was going a fair speed downhill. Bummed me out for a bit.

Great effort!! Would love to do a 24h but just don't have time to get anywhere near the endurance required

Can confirm Alderbourne Lane, to the north of Pinewood, has had the most degraded areas resurfaced.

Took myself out north from Sheffield for a change, out to holmfirth to try out the climb at Jackson’s Bridge. Made it to the top without dying, but fuck me the idea of racing up that wants to make me puke blood.

Very scenic. Unlike your gooch I'd imagine.
Lovely out yesterday morning, bagged some tiles, lurked under the M4, saw some boats, all good. Home for cheese on toast and a beer in the sunshine.
