Just did 6 back to back on my surly tourer. Heavy as fook but geared at least.
It's def gonna be a bit of a fucker. Gonna give it a go but will be happy with as many as I manage. -

This event will be fixed only!
I have my reservations as to whether anyone will be able to complete all 24 laps on a fixed.
This is seriously, seriously difficult. It may be worth a crack though, I may attempt it just out of interest to find out what will happen to me

I have no doubt about weather it is doable. I am just not sure if I can do it. I will however give it a bloody good crack.
You doing it on your track gearing mike?

in that case, u have to take both brakes off. that'll even it out a bit.
Taking the rear brake off would involve a lack of rear wheel. Getting up Swains is hard enough with one wheel and only gravity to get you up =P

Unless some of you out there are doing some proper hill climbing training. I reckon most people will just see how many they can rack up.
However the runs should probably be timed, just in case more than 1 person does the whole thing.

You're not wrong. Knees mashed going up, spinning like a c-nut on the way down.

I was pondering doing this but can't now as I'll be on childcare duties all day. I'm relieved I think, but a tad disappointed too.

Bring the family and spectate?
I really wish I could afford to build a low-budget hillclimber for this with ss polo gearing and as many speedholes as I can drill.
I reckon theres got to be a few people on here with the ability to do it fixed. Fuck speculation, turn up on the day and see what happens.

She hasn't got any yet.
Thanks for all the suggestions, good and not so good, but her mum is out all day so I'll be looking after her on my own. She's not big enough for the child seat yet so that option is out.

Get the tube and come and spectate. There is a kids play area in Waterlow park (next to Swains Lane) for when she gets board.

Hah! Like that option - Swain's reps with a kiddie strapped in at the back – was ever 'in'.
