Basso is coached by Aldo Sassi, who also coaches Evans. He's universally acknowledged as a vociferous anti-doping campaigner who doesn't dope the riders he coaches.

He's also suffering from a brain tumour at the moment, I wish him a full and swift recovery.

Eurosport have a bit of tendency to let other programmes run over, it usually means that you have to record at least an hour either side of what you want to watch and recently I havent been getting any of the giro recorded at all, leaving me settled on the sofa with a beer feeling somewhat pissed off!

Damnm that sucks. I've not been recording it since my V+ box doesn't recognise the hiughlights as a series. Lame. At least they put quite a few repeats on.

I wouldn't bother, there's no live pictures because of the weather. We did see some shots of the Gavia earlier, it looks epic. I hope the cloud cover lifts soon!

Good win by Tschopp and nice attack by Evans. No danger for Basso, of course, but it made the last few k more interesting.
