From velo news updates:
"EuroHoody - How long until Evans punches one of these crazy Italian fans?"And Basso riding away from evans, 3.5km left

Cadel must be a hard man ... massive respect for going into the Pain Cave, in fact he went soo far in he must have found a sub terrainian cave network.

I think think Cadel followed to 'Pain Cave' all the way back to Oz...
Awesome effort from cuddles to stay with Basso as long as he did.
I wanted to punch those mental fans!
This has been one of the best Giro's in years:-) -

How dare they have a rest - I want more great racing, now dammit!
-
• #289
^give em a break, they'll all be going into the red tomorrow, no hiding out there!
Anyone have a team in Velogames Fantasy Giro? Maybe we should make a mini-league for the TdF

The gradient for the first 2.5km is only 3.7% but it gradually becomes tougher with the sections between 2.5km and 7.5km around 9% before it ramps up into double figures. The final 5km are on a gravel road and the last few hundred meters feature a gruelling maximum gradient of 24%.
Sounds like a nice leisurely ride! -

I love this year's Giro - so exciting and changeable. Zoncolan and that off road stage were completely and totally epic.

The stages on Friday and Saturday are probably the two hardest in the race. It's a very tough route this year. Sometimes that can lead to negative racing but so far that hasn't happened.

Surely they're just going to be marking each other today?...which brings me to a point. Are they allowed radios on TTs? Might be more interesting if they weren't.
I can't believe how much pain these guys have got for the last week. Mortirolo followed by Gavia for the last 2 days racing? Fecking OUCH.

I don't think you can really mark each other in a mountain TT, it's full gas for 40 minutes and hope.

For the winner, usually.

We're looking forwards now and building a new clean sport, not back to the bad old days. :-|

• #297
So you won't be checking out the Coppi exhibition at the Raph-Caf then?
-
• #298
I was paraphrasing Pat McQuaid.

Depends on the quality of the cakes and whether Rapha Condor want to
bribe, erm, donate some money to help the UCI fight the war on drugs.
Basso and evans only at the front now
