Has anyone read the Sports Gene by David Epstein? Gene doping is likely already here when you understand the possible benefits of gene manipulation.

It's mentioned in Faster- as are some of the side effects, which mainly seem to involve the bodies immune system becoming intolerant of some vital biological process.

I expect your are quite right, however.

There was a BBC radio doc on it a few months back. I think I posted a link to it here somewhere. Really interesting.

Well, no one has been able to keep up with Nibali, including spokesman for a clean generation, Valverde. The only Sky rider likely to have been able to crashed out in the first week. So it's hard to see what your point is.
