Doping

  • Sky, my second favourite Australian team.

  • All hail...

    Your leader.

  • As someone tweeted though, they're happy to drop cycling in the shit whenever but now it's just doping is rife in 'sports'.

How many Aussie coaches at Sky?

I reckon other sports love cycling because it takes all the shit for the cheating that goes on literally everywhere. Even with Fuentes they name 50 cyclists and keep the other names, rumoured to be Barca and Spanish national team players, Germany's national team, Nadal etc, hidden. Good that they are finally peeling everything back, not just picking at cycling's scab

  • Shane Sutton and Tim Kerrison are the two big guns behind Wiggo's TdF win. There may be others.

Cycling has always been the doping scapegoat. It's about time some other sports got dragged through the shit. I can't believe Puerto just chose to ignore other sports.

  • its not in Spain's national interest to expose widespread doping in football - their economy is fucked and football is a huge export, not to mention underpinning their (fragile) national psyche.

It's a political decision too - who would want to be the Prime Minister who encouraged the exposé of back-to-back tournament winning national team? Same reason Obama didn't want to crucify Lance in an election year.

  • A brief moment of schadenfreude

    Fucken gold

"Kyle Reimers has come out and said things that are untrue," said McVeigh. “He's a disgruntled player that was delisted from the football club that very rarely turned up to pre-season training in any sort of form that resembled a professional footballer.”

Deja-vu? Groundhog Day? Stop me if you haven’t heard all this before.

And there's the rub: people don't want to know their favourite team is doping, in their favourite sport. Doping is something cyclists or track athletes do, not football or tennis players.

Plus the Spanish are notorious for not considering it cheating anyway.

  • The Fuentes trial isn't even about cheating in sport - it's a public health prosecution

  • Sport is business and everyone who can dope does dope. There are no clean sports. Deal with it.

  • Of course - where there's money and an opportunity / incentive to cheat, people will cheat. Human nature.

That's because at the time (2006) is wasn't a criminal act isn't it? So they're doing Fuentes because he didn't have a thermometer in a fridge full of blood bags called Rex, Squeak and Dolly

    Cyclists have been.. for years.

It's now looking like some other fuckers might have to "deal with it".

    Telfon.

    Need I say more?

  • all hail...

    your leader.

    ***boycott sky ***

  • "free Sky box for dicki, our biggest fan"

  • what a face that bloke has got

    soooo punchable

  • meanwhile... who is Clasicomano Luigi??

    Thomas Dekker

    or...

    Fabian Cancellara?

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/exclusive-interview-tyler-hamilton

  • Why isn't Luigi in his poxy 'tell all' book?

  • The case for the prosecution.

  • @hippy

    don't know.

Dutch journo claims that Dekker = Luigi, just wondering.

  • watched Fabian's attack on the muur in 2010 again the other day... So outrageous.

  • Where he dropped Boonen? Dropping another clydesdale on a shortish power climb is hardly a slam dunk for proof of doping.
