HOME!
stuck about in palma and did the roof terrace drinking thing for a couple of days, but had to get back for another job, so flew from palma to barca on saturday eve, drove overnight to caen (anyone else stuck i would reccommend this, as calais is apparently fucked in every which way) and got the ferry to portsmouth, picked up at portsmouth and got back home about half an hour ago. about 30 hours after leaving my hotel. -

It would depend on your contract.
I would endeavour to work remotely. Other people might strike some compromise with their boss. Might depend if it was a work trip or holiday they were away for. One of the guys at work is stuck in Kathmandu.. he'll be earning £0/day for his troubles because he can't actually work remotely.
Yeah I guess. Luckily we work in IT so remote work may be possible depending where we would be.
I don't think volcano's are mentioned in my contract, but I'll have a look. ;)

I haven't found any English legal advice, but in Germany the law is clear, you have to take extra days of holiday, whether you like it or not, and if you can't go on holiday because of it, you have no right to move it, you will just have to take it at home, unless your boss is willing to change it.
I do love the Germans...

It's not the only one VeeVee: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Fruit_Company
And the Jolly Green Giant has not often been putting smiles on his workers' faces either.
And just reading this.
Refrigerated stores at Nairobi airport and on farms are now completely full, and a huge amount of fresh flowers and vegetables destined for the European market is in danger of perishing, the BBC's East Africa correspondent, Will Ross, reports. And to think that Kenyan people go hungry.

I know! But, the kids could do with getting back to London.
He did, after missing a sitter. Two more games, and 3 points to guarantee playoffs.

From wikipedia (until it gets edited)
“In 2010 as part of its fiscal responsibility act (2010) and to re-address the financial problems seen across Europe from 2008 to 2010 but perhaps felt most widely in Iceland the Eyjafjallajokull (ay-yah-FYAH’-plah-yer-kuh-duhl) company launched its new Volcanic ash product across much of North Western Europe. The resultant exports, whilst not boosting Iceland's economy to any significant degree, did bring Europe's travel systems in line with Icelandic banks.”
Priceless

bbc news this morning said more and more ferry places were opening up all the time in calais and showed a few people turning up and buying foot passenge tickets as they got there.
Good point.. actually.. let's leave him there and grab a small Chinese village to replace him..
