• i'm definitely interested, VB, can i get in?

  • i'll see how this pans out. the other team members are all people of the highest integrity and i would gladly stare at their bums for 4 hours.
but i'm not a fan of mixing my hobbies so not big on cross-dressing and cycling at the same time.
plus i would want to cane it save the drink and shenanigans for the finish.
i like the idea of not having any cat racers so we get a big handicap then hopefully surprise a few people :-) (we can gloss over hippys hillclimb wins)
so will give my place up if David see's fit.

  • i'm definitely interested, VB, can i get in?

I'm holding off on fruitbat as he has said something earlier, but if he's not in then you would be.

  • I don't even have a race licence and I'm fucking slow this year anyway. Stupid winter mumble house buying work time bastard grumble.

  • if we are doing this fixed then I think we should be doing a LOT of training runs there, I want the muscle memory to make it up the hills.

I don't really want to do it fixed. If it's a team decision, I'll go with it though.

I think the philosohpy "it's all about the ride" is the best out there.

I like that we go at the speed of beer.

  • (at australian stewart) so if i keep up the training i may be as fast as you :-)

I'll be the slow one, then.

I'll have done the rubaix the week before, so hopefully I'll be ready for this.

  • I wont do this.

  • And can we have team kit?!?

  • 1) A team name

    LFGSS

    2) Six names of riders plus email addresses

    3) Team philosophy (reflects the name and the spirit of our ride)

    We'll get there eventually..

    4) "Our team should be included because..."

We would be faster than you... if we wanted.

    5) Our handicap ( "Slow but determined", "Steady as she goes", "Not to be underestimated", "Warp speed Mr Sulu")

Slow, steady, underestimated warp beer speed[/QUOTE]

Seems fine to me... what gear inches are people thinking of? That could help our handicap considerably.

Or do we want to go geared so that we can get a higher average speed over the course of the thing?

  • I'm holding off on fruitbat as he has said something earlier, but if he's not in then you would be.

cool. i thought 'team support' meant he'd be driving the team car or something :)
i'm in much better shape than I was last year so i reckon it would be a blast.

  • TBH i would want to do this geared. if owned a serotta i would want to do it geared too.:-)

    1. Velocio (1)
    2. Object (376)
    3. MrSmyth (62)
    4. !Nhattattack! (151)
    5. hippy (29)
    6. (fruitbat or lpg)

    I need:

Full name + age + sex (unfortunately the form only offers male or female).

  • fruitbat, if you haven't responded by the time I get all the info I'm going to assume team support and put lpg down as the rider.

  • TBH i would want to do this geared. if owned a serotta i would want to do it geared too.:-)

    It's extremely tempting.

  • or a nice carbon Look..

  • And can we have team kit?!?

Whatever we all agree on is cool.

    The only rules there are:
"Teams must ride and stay together the entire time trial, all making it to three check points. Teams must find their own way, unsupported."

So we can't have a support vehicle or anything daft.

Got details for 4 of 6... just need the other 2. Full names and age... PM me.

There are two Australian Stuarts on this forum.

    Stewart is a surname.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is, of course, wrong and a sheep molester.

If you meant me.. you'd smoke me at the moment.

It does seem a bit of a cop out not riding fixed if we're entering as the forum.
Plus we have the best excuse for coming last.
On the other hand I really do prefer riding gearies for anything long or bumpy. It's kinda why they were invented ya know? :)

  • Well my username is Velocio.

  • I'll be the slow one, then.
I'll have done the rubaix the week before, so hopefully I'll be ready for this.

As in 260k of Paris-Roubaix? Are you doing it? Me too! Forgot all about it to be honest. Shit.. I need some miles!

  • 65 miles non stop to brighton will be a walk in the park after that.

  • i'd prefer doing it fixed ... kinda agree with hippy - we are entering as FGSS!

wouldn't mind doing it geared, though.
