Brave - although too late to be of use to you now, this does show the real use of Pet insurance and I would heartily recommend the purchase of it to cover vets' bills like that one.

I agree Clive. I had a dog years back and took insurance for him. A very good thing as well as I eneded up needing thousands of pounds worth of care for him..
Thanks V.

Hindsight... Darn it.. Did have a quick look to see if I could sneak in a policy today but, unsurprisingly, it wouldn't work.
Meh. It's only money.. I'll just have to wait for the Dura-ace upgrade a little longer. Hopefully the lump will prove nothing to bad. but best to get it out.

Hope Molly's ok Brave.
I've got pet insurance for my two, the only thing one of them has ever been to the vets for (other than routine jabs, etc) so far, was to have a couple of teeth out for £250. Darned teeth aren't covered by the policy ... Meh.

Do they test before they cut? I ask because my cat is covered in war scabs/lumps/etc and they're not gonna kill him. Anyway, there's not way my parents would pay for surgery. The most our cats get is a .22. :S

Vet wanted to cut the lump out PDQ as it was right under a mammary gland. Good news was that the xray showed no other lumps on/in her

I am a dog person (My username was the name of my beloved Boxer) but alas don't have the time to look after a dog so a cat is the next best friend..

She's supposed to be wearing one of those fucking lampshade collars to stop her licking the cut/stiches. Can you get a cat to keep one of these fucking things on? No. No way in hell. She keeps yanking it off.
Came home last night and it was on the floor. She was sat next to it licking her paw with an expression on her face which just said.. Pfffffffffffffffft.

Hope all goes well.
Just to add a vote for the kennel club's insurance. It is more expensive than the others but covers more than all the rest. Some policies do not carry over a condition from year to another so if the dog (my also cover cats) has an ongoing condition you are stuffed with a lot of the others.

My cat has had his fair share of surgery and stitches but luckily was never given a collar. He didn't seem to be worried with his stitches either so try without the collar and see how she is getting on.
Was she all spaced out for 12 hours when you got her back? My cat usually stares at the wall for hours when he comes back from surgery and falls sideways. Terrible!

We have taken the collar off VeeVee and you're right. She's like "meh, feed me"
She was totally spaced out. She sat in the corner for a while Friday and then drifted off to sleep. She woke up and hour later and totally freaked out. Threw an absolute fit mental hissing and screeching fit trying to get the collar off. Think she just woke up and forgot about the collar.
Anyway. It's like nothing ever happened now. She's eating normal. Purring when stroked and brushed.
Thanks for the support and advice from everyone

clean it more than once a week? and bleach.
As this is the Unofficial Cat Advice thread can we rename it?
also my cat has a piece of fluff (or possibly cardboard) stuck in her paw, she doesn't seem bothered by it... do I pull it out?
