  • Ah right... wasn't aware. I've been using raw in cs5 at work, or aperture at home. In all honesty, prefer aperture.

I was going to say PM me how much you paid, but I don't think I want to know. ;)

  • Ed - import through Lightroom, then export into photoshop. Works fine for me.

  • Just bought a Canon powershot a495. Haven't adjusted any settings yet ,left it on auto. Took a few pictures last night which I'm happy with but am wondering why I'm getting a blueish haze around white areas (obvious here around the bar tape). Is this something I could counteract by adjusting the white balance or some other setting or is it a limitation of the budget camera? Cheers

  • It'll be Chromatic Aberration. It's from the lens so not really something you can fix in camera. Lightroom has the ability to fix it (to a degree) as will other programs like PS etc.
Personally, I'd just live with it, I don't really notice it in the pic you posted and if you start worrying about it you'll just find other flaws and then it's a slippery slope to becoming a gear obsessed measurebator.

  • Thanks, I'll try not to let it bother me

  • I bought a GF1 and a 20mm 1.7f from Hugo on here recently.
It's so, so much better than any camera I've owned before, including a few dSLR's and the like.
    Chuffed doesn't cut it.

Didn't have lightroom, was about to purchase Aperture since it's easy to download from that 'app store'.

I forget how much I love the Adobe Camera RAW until I realise I can't use it anymore.

Does that way allowed me to edit it in the ACR?

  • Nice pic morgan!

Is that your mum or partner? - looks like the only 'for fucks sake more photos' look they can achieve.

My mother! Yeah, I think she's midway between pleased I'm home and worried about my symbiotic attachment to my new camera.

It's a pity that as one good thing comes together, my fixed-gear is fucked. Ah well.

I see you're ashamed of his punk phase mohawk so you've subtly cropped the top of his head off. We're parents too you know, you can't hide these things.

  • resized.

    it's shot at 1/125th of a second at F/2.

even though there were noticable grain, it give me reassurance that ISO 800 will be perfectly fine when needed.

  • basic disposable camera thing.

I tried to show him the righteous way, but even at 3 punk is strong

  • I gave in and bought the canon 17-40 f/4 L yesterday (in US though). I really wanted a wide angle, so done.
