used the samyang 8mm at the Berlin6 on my d3200. amazed to be taking indoor shots at 400th sec on f8...disappointed with noise levels on the high ISOs...... you could fit the whole track in though!

Another try with that effect with an old photo...

Bit too linear, especially when the blur appear to be identical all round, ideally it should blurrier the higher th block of flat is.

Yeah, it looks like the building in the foreground has been pasted on top of another photo.

it looks like the front building is a cardboard model on a children's claymation show

The red one is still available at PC World/Curry's for £130 as well if you're not keen on refurbished.
These were all taken with my first play with an XF1 https://secure.flickr.com/photos/mauwf/sets/72157639772808846/

Got asked to take some portraits of my dad. As usual the posed shots felt too posed, but quite pleased with the later ones.
Also, still cant get over how sharp the Asahi Super Takumar 50 is!

Love that first one. I haven't used my Takumar on digital much but I've been looking at installing a split prism in my 5D. Anyone done this?

^ I have read about it (albeit for a 450D), and the general consensus was that it wasn't worth it, but I'd really love to see one in the flesh to make my own mind up. I really miss how easy it was to focus on my old OM10

The super takumars rear element will jam the mirror on a 5d when focused to infinity. Its fine on a crop camera because the mirror is smaller. I think you can file some if the metal off so it has clearance but thats risky.
Very nice lens tho. -

Have you got one like the first pic but eyes-to-the-horizon? Would make for a viable "I should have bought a boat" image macro.

^^ & ^^^
I use a Super-Takumar 55mm *f*1.8 with an M42 > EOS adapter with a Canon 1000D.
It's a royal pain in the ass; aperture is non-automatic of course (finder goes dark if you stop down),
plus my lens has literally some screws loose inside, so if you turn the focus ring the aperture gets affected
(darkens the finder as well of course, and also affects metering of course). This all being said - I love the thing.
No need to say I use it at 1.8 most of the time for thing that hold still.
It's contrasty as fuck, sharp as fuck if you nail it, and bokeh is awesome. -

Strange, I opened the attachments and thought "they're definitely not sharp!" and my mouse pointer had turned into the little zoom in + so I clicked but instead of zooming - images already full size, they became a load sharper. They looked a little soft before the click. Bit odd.
Nice pics though! -

Don't think there is any quite like that, but that was the sort of vibe I was going for I think

Nice pics though!Cheers. They are low quality and roughly re-sized, the original file at 100% is definitely sharp

What kind of lens mount? -

Love that look, interesting when you compare it to results from a Leica noctilux. The blur/bokeh you have there is far more controlled without coma. Looks a bit like a fast version of a 50 1.4. i.e. smother bokeh but shallower depth of field. In fact the depth of field is quite large but the out of focus areas are blurred like f1.0 or less.
