Also, does anyone have a Nikkor 35mm f1.8 DX lense they would like to sell me?

Thanks mate, I was thinking if I were to buy from Calumet, if anything is wrong with the camera, could I just pop back there and get them to deal with canon on my behalf? Coz it'd be a reason to get from them. I have a personal dislike towards them over the years from getting other stuff.
Don't forget that Canon have some cash back offers on at the moment on different lenses and bodies...
http://www.canon.co.uk/euro2012cashback/
I think there are a few other cash back deals not listed on that page...

^ I have checked all I could, they are not doing any for the 5D at the moment, they did one last year of £150 and I was hoping the mark 3 would come out soon, hence held fire... boo... should have gone for it then.

I'm looking for exactly the same lens. Some cheaper ones on ebay if you want a risk or mpb is selling one for 480 second hand, but I'd rather get one new for that.
In other news, does anyone want to buy my Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM lens? Good condition, £550, can get pics etc...

A friend of mine literally ordered that lens from this guy. No issues (except for not being able to claim canon cash back).

Yeah I did think that, but I couldn't get it to look right i'll have another play
Med student or home decorations?
Neither, though I'd love that hand and the rest of the arm/shoulder, I love anatomic models for some reason. I was just doing some work for sports science, that skull is actually an archer off the Mary Rose. I did a load of photos of arm and hip bones for them.

Cool. I've got some cat and dog skulls, a few frog skeletons, a rbbit skeleton and a chicken one, mostly from a biology dept that was getting rid. Quite fancy getting into to some human stuff and missed a skull at an auction at the weekend that went for a really decent price.

Balls, just spent ages writing a post on my phone and lost it.
Basically I'm still lusting after a d7000 and am travelling to SE Asia tomorrow.
What are the pros and cons of buying one abroad and where would be best? My options are Abu Dhabi airport (transit), Jakarta (final destination) and maybe Singapore if work forces me to makea daytrip there (both unlikely and unwelcome). Are there likely to be any comparability issues or difficulties with warranties?

Just make sure there's an english language option in the menu. I think it's only Japanese domestic models they ship out with no other languages in them and that might be a thing of the past too.
Think Nikon are more leniant with warranty but should probably check out if it's international or what. You might end up having to send it back to wherever you bought it if it goes wrong.
Watch out for customs catching you bringing it back into the country and charging you VAT etc. Hide the box, manuals etc.

I'll be out there for 4 months in the field so plenty of time for it to start looking worn :) plus there is a 3month limit on import taxes isn't there?

Not a clue.
Nah canny be, well put it this way, I've imported 10+ year old cameras and been charged for something.
